The population of Ottawa is about 1 million.

Excluding Washington, that's the equivalent of blockading San Jose, CA. Not quite the same impact. And an attempt to blockage Washington would bring down a much stronger response than the RCMP and local police attempted.

And the local, provincial and federal governments are utterly incapable of responding effectively.

I agree if they try this in DC, they’ll be in for a rude awakening, especially after January 6.

brought 100 kids. I think that is why they have been slow to respond. Children's Aid is on it.

Semantic note. It's certainly a "truck" protest. Trucks are being used as a weapon of economic warfare against the Canadian state. But it's not a "trucker" protest. 90% of Canadian truckers are vaccinated, and comparatively few of the truck blockaders drive a truck for a living.

Government administrative functions and high technology are the main industries. Likely they can function pretty well by using work from home for normal operations and business continuity locations for critical functions.

Lots less impact than tying up Windsor.
