the media does not seem to have the bandwidth to cover more than one major event at a time.

I’m sorry and outraged at yet another slaughter but IMHO the damage the new speaker can do to the country is just as important if not more so

I subscribe to the widely-loathed-on-DU New York Times; all the other stories are still being covered. Maybe you're complaining about CNN/MSNBC?

The other stories will come back soon enough, although I'd like to hear less about President Motherfucker.

4. Mass shootings will do that, but it's not a conspiracy.

They'll probably catch the guy before long and, like all other mass shootings, it will no longer be news. Should this incident not dominate the news for a day or two? Or are we so used to mass shootings that we don't want the media to bother with them?

but mass shootings are so common that it's only big news for a short time. We'll be back to other horrific things in a minute.

I think a former member of the Eagles even wrote a song about it.

The situation in Maine is active, dynamic, and dramatic. Not that the problems with the GOP aren't important, but they have been ongoing for several weeks. This situation in Maine just happened, is horrific, AND the shooter is still at large and a threat to the community where the shooting occurred.

Are you implying something in your questioning about the story currently replacing other stories in the headlines?
