Never even thought about doing that before but under Chump I worry about certain folks.
Been having problems with my internet. Guy came out last week and said yeah, your cable is old and corroding plus, get this, when our company came out last month to "upgrade your service" the cable guy put a filter on it.
Waa? Blah, blah. Take off filter. No wonder it was so fucking slow.
So today two guys showed up to replace not only the cable but install a tube that the cable goes into. Which sounds great to me - no problem with corrosion or yard varmints.
One guy spoke no English the other spoke very little. They worked hard and efficiently and didn't take smoke breaks like all the white workman guys do around here.
Gave the English speaker a twenty. Doesn't sound like much but I bet he never got a tip in my state before.

(1,497 posts)Should I approach both of them and offer a 10 to each? But when I went outside as they were finishing the non-English speaker was in the truck.
So I tipped the one who was finishing the job and hopefully he was an honest bloke and split it with his co-worker.

(1,130 posts)We had satellite for about 12 years it sucked, better than dial up but if you went over 250 megabytes of data in a day it slowed to less than dial up.
Saw a cable truck going up our road and checked their website and sure enough I could sign up for cable broadband to be available in a few weeks.
The day came and this small guy gets out it is the coldest day in January he had to get a 30' ladder on the pole and then run the line I helped where I could and gave him a 50 dollar tip he earned every bit of it.
That was around 2018.
