(6,457 posts)I love his straight talk, no bullshit, no beating around the bush, so straightforward. This is a man in the mold of Harry Truman and would make an outstanding leader for the free world!

(2,851 posts)ESRI Conference in San Diego in July of 2024. He is a GIS nerd, self-described. A very good speech
on a topic I knew almost nothing about.
Geographic Informational Systems. Mapping. He used it as a teacher.
(I apologize for not linking. I'm not good at the tech stuff.)
The speech was given the day before he got the call from Kamala.

(2,851 posts)Also, thought Walz would be a good pick, so when I saw a reference to the speech I followed up and saw the video. I was impressed by the speaker and intrigued by the topic.

(19,459 posts)While he's only three years younger, he looks 10+ his junior, and is world's above him in looks. I know it shouldn't matter, but it does. I want to win against Vance.

(37,138 posts)To settle these things.
Can't wait to see a nice primary again with many candidates.

(91,546 posts)similar to Biden. But Biden was far better in debates before he was affected by aging.
The current ones likely to run such as the governors Newsom, Beshear, and Shapiro are tough and aggressive types. Walz may stand out from that.
But I also think Walz would be a better candidate if we were running against some W Bush type . With JD Vance I think people want to see his ass get kicked and while I don't believe it would have made a difference in the election outcome Shapiro and Beshear would have destroyed Vance.

(5,960 posts)against Vance was he was walking a fine line in making sure he was also representing the Harris ticket. I think if he were the top of ticket, hed be more comfortable representing his views and would be stronger and more passionate as hed be truly speaking from his heart.
I do think Chris Murphy may be thinking of it too and man, I like him a lot. What a great primary it would be.

Nonetheless ,my choice so far is Wes Moore.
