Jamie Raskin says that now that DOGE

has been ruled by some judge to be a government agency they are liable to FOIA rules and that we should all demand to see any records regarding ourselves. I'm doubtful, but just replying to the demands might fuck them up.

5. Why did any judge rule that this is a federal agency

They just made it up out of thin air, this is not congressionally mandated nor congressionally approved. Democrats need to stand firm and block every piece of legislation that comes down to the floor vote. They need to take the power back of Congress.

established by President Obama - United States Digital Service and renamed it to "DOGE".

21 employees of department renamed DOGE resign to protest dismantling of 'critical public services'

That unit was created as a result of the unfortunate healthcare.gov fiasco in order to oversee/assist/consult on later federal system efforts and rollouts, as well as aligning the many government websites that are part of USA.gov.

9. I assume the Judge wasn't ruling on whether it was a "legitimate" agency

but rather, he ruled that since they are acting as a government agency, therefore the same rules need to apply to them

6. Even if say only 10 million people requested their information, they wouldn't be able to handle it

And the law gives them only 20 working days to respond. That would be fun to watch them crash and burn over an avalanche of FOIA requests.

There will be a boilerplate reply:

Dear Citizen

Your information is not in any of our data.

Thanks for asking.
