Eby announced on Wednesday that Tesla products would no longer be part of British Columbia's CleanBC or BC Hydro rebates, which can grant up to 50 percent of the cost to people who install a charging station at home, according to the BC Hydro website.
In a statement, Eby said: "The Government of B.C. and BC Hydro are taking action to preference Canadian goods in our rebate programs going forward and to exclude, where practicable, U.S. produced goods.

Musk responded on social media by calling the move "crazy", retweeting a post that suggested he should cut off Canadian access to SpaceX and Starlink in retaliation.
Racist brat drug addict thinks he rules the world. Comeuppance time for the ass who said Canada wasn't a real country.

(5,432 posts)Please proceed. Why most anyone who has access to fibre, cable or 4/5G cell phone internet would want Starlink anyhow is IMO a mystery (it is expensive, a power hog and you have to purchase the h/w upfront).

(5,446 posts)And Elon is a full blown bully, so he thinks he can force people to love him. From the Canadians I have known, that's not gonna fly.

(5,432 posts)That's why I said "most" everyone has better alternatives than Starlink. Personally, I live near a large city and have the option of cable, terrestrial microwave, cell network or satellite. Some of my neighbours have Starlink and I don't understand why as I get 50 to 60 Mb/s on a cellular "Smart Hub" at one half the cost of Starlink and, rock solid, weather immune reliability and with up to 200Mb/s optionally available if required. As well, my outdoor antennae doesn't require an electric heater and related expense to melt off the snow and ice that collect on Starlink antennae.
Not sure why so many seem to think faster downloads is necessarily better - it only takes about 5 Mb/s to stream HD video so how much speed does a typical household (or business for that matter) actually need anyhow?
BTW EM can stuff it. I was v interested last year in the supposedly upcoming Tesla Model "Q" but would not even consider one now.
