I don’t wish for people to lose their jobs and go hungry. I don’t wish for them or me to lose their retirement savings. I do not wish for the destruction of America.

some scientists out of all the crazy **** Trump and MAGA are doing to the US. They thought about it and said the gloating is a message that needs to get to the MAGA supporters, so they find out what is really happening instead of living in their bubbles. How else do you want to puncture the MAGA bubbles? I don't want to see anyone down on their luck ground into the ground but I do want to see some of them conscious about what is going on. A gloat against them may be the only kind of message they understand being in a cult. If not, God help us all.

Is wishing hardship for all of us, including the most vulnerable. Though the fact is we can’t control it because Trump has already ruined everything. But no, I do not take pleasure in joblessness, homelessness, and starvation. That is not consistent with my values. If I did, I’d be a Republican.

My job is in the line. I don’t find that an occasion for celebration. You can’t pretend the hardships only affect Republicans, since many or most of those losing their jobs and retirement finds are not MAGAs.

for those who voluntarily sign up to Public Square. You know who followed the government rules and were cooperative in WWII? The German people. You know who didn't follow the rules, did not cooperate and were not nice? The French Resistance.

From the article:

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/publicsquare-trump-critics-boycott-businesses_n_680900d2e4b00850c6839b0b

“PublicSquare is basically the Green Book, but for conservatives,” this TikTok user, who goes by dapper.delinquent, says in his video. “The Green Book was a book passed around Black communities that was a list of stores and businesses that were safe for Black People to use. PublicSquare is the same thing for conservatives.”

“It is a website that conservatives will register their business on to show they are anti-woke, pro-conservative and especially pro-life,” he says.

not to lose your job or people to be poor and struggling. That is what makes us Democrats. But perhaps we can cheer the right wing getting found out and boycotted. We do want them found out don't we?

I don’t understand what you’re talking about. You started by expressing adoration for FAFO economics, which I took to mean out current economic distress. I pointed out there is no economic hardship that doesn’t affect the population at large, not just certain voters. You seemed to disagree with that point and then made some claim about “breaking the rules” and how that equated to the French resistance. Who knew all I had to do was indulge in shadenfreuden and Trump would be defeated?

I have no idea what you mean by found out. We have all known what MAGAs were for a long time. How does our economic suffering change that? I get the point about your taking satisfaction in the hardship of MAGAs; I happen to disagree, but that’s a matter of one’s conscience, not an economic phenomenon.

I’m all for boycotting. In fact, another poster said those of us who boycotted anything were engaging in economic terrorism. I disagreed.

The FAFO in this op was specific to the MAGA businesses and MAGA politics like Don Jr. Trump in the article. If you did not read the article that's not my fault.

Trump thinks outsides the box, so should we and make it uncomfortable for business to promote MAGA and boycott.

Yes break the rules and stop empathizing with MAGA supporting businesses.

We are talking about real world losses for the US under Trump being real world gains for other countries which is info that should be shouted to the hilltop and flies in the face of Trump's America First agenda. It is not schadenfreude.

Consumers need info on which businesses are Trump supporters.

I'm glad you agree with boycotting. That was the whole point of my OP.

total occupancy/dismantling of government to teach his willfully, deliberately ignorant cult followers and the deluded "undecideds," what some (of us) have been TRYING to warn them of for...oh.. ten YEARS. How else will they learn?

But yes, sadly, many of us will suffer too.

Maybe next time democracy won't be taken for granted. If there IS a next time.
