Tonite's Correspondents' Dinner; What a Travesty!

Last edited Sun Apr 27, 2025, 03:24 PM - Edit history (1)

What's up Journalists & media people? You completely dropped the ball! Everyone watches this, on TV every year, and they have expectations of entertainment. So this year, the fragile & cowardly president does not attend, and for some reason, the correspondents dinner decides not to have ANY entertainment? Wow. No comedians at all...it's basically just a dinner, and then they have some boring testimonials and awards at the end. Unbelievable.

What this says to me, is that these so-called journalists have surrendered in advance. This was a BIG WIN for Trump, and they just capitulated in advance, and handed it to him. It also amazes me that they do not seem to understand the basics of the media business that they are in...and that's entertainment, even if it's news. This was not entertaining AT ALL. This was boring as fuck.

They rolled over, they gave up without even an attempt to justify their profession. They handed it to Trump.

I'm so sick of this.

The MSM is a cipher.
It does even make half hearted effort to report.
They are not close to due dilgence.
People should ignore them and get news elsewhere.

You have to online and find good outlest. Tehy arer.

Comedian Amber Ruffin was set to headline the annual White House correspondents' dinner next month

The association hosting the White House correspondents' dinner has cancelled its headline comedy performance for this year's event after tensions with the Trump administration.

Comedian Amber Ruffin was scheduled to perform at the annual dinner next month, but the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) announced on Saturday that it had scrapped her appearance.

...

The move comes after the White House attacked the association for choosing Ruffin as a headliner due to her criticism of US President Donald Trump.

Everybody doesn’t watch this every year. It’s not the Super Bowl or the Oscars or even the Golden Globes. It has a very small audience which is why it’s on CSPAN instead of one of the major networks. More people probably watch reruns of Young Sheldon then the Correspondents dinner.

It comes across as looking folks who pretend to be adversaries -- press and politicos -- but are all essentially in an exclusive club. Watching chumminess between those entrusted to hold power brokers' feet to the fire isn't reassuring.
