Are we allowed to riot yet? (Original Post) struggle4progress Apr 27 OP

Why does he need an excuse? Almost everything he does has had zero justification. Wiz Imp Apr 27 #11
No, if he declares martial law without grounds, he will get no support for it. Not from the Supreme Court and not from Martin68 Apr 27 #15
Idk... I hope so! (no support for it under that circumstance) electric_blue68 Apr 29 #18
according to some DUers it is fine to ambush offensive people and shoot them in the back Skittles Apr 27 #2
That is probably not a great idea at this point- it could bring on martial law etc. Meowmee Apr 27 #3

If there's going to be a riot, it better be like 500,000 people showing up at Mar-A-Lago and trashing the joint AZJonnie Apr 27 #5

Shitler is looking for an excuse to declare Martial law. If he does, the Republic is not just dead, but dead and buried.

This has always been a stupid argument. If he's going to declare martial law, he will do it regardless of anything else happening. He needs no excuse.

And just react to the headlines... she says no and that people who advocate for violence are self-defeating and suspect.

"Are we allowed to riot yet?" is a question that teases the notion whether we should riot or not and I've never read any serious Democrat suggest such a thing. I responded based upon the title of the video, and just a couple of words added to that would have made things clearer.

You know, like a January 6, part 2? Not hurting anyone, but maybe smearing feces on the walls, putting their feet up on Trump's desk, that kind of thing.

Hell, we already know that people who do that sort of thing are heroes and patriots, and even worthy of pardons, right?

But aside from that particular scenario ... I agree with her. Rioting is a bad look.

That's too many to jail everyone, and also such an overwhelming number that perhaps there wouldn't need to be any fight, the people protecting it would more likely just walk away. Also there's no 'official proceeding' there to obstruct, it's not Federal property, etc. I'm not 'encouraging' it, nor would I be there. But if 500K other people did something like that, and it went down as I described? Let's just say I'd not be calling the attendees out for having done so

owned by DJT, the current president of the US. I imagine any kind of "blocking", etc., will not be ignored, and the "protectors" will not likely walk away. Like the current large ICE arrests, they will just start grabbing people, and if you're caught, you're caught. The "too many to jail" argument kinda falls flat, if you don't get that many people that are willing to be jailed, to show up.

Because riots are never clean and pretty. Criminals will take advantage of a riot to loot and steal. It's not unlikely that people will be hurt or even killed. Most of all it will give Trump exactly what he hopes--the excuse to declare martial law. Then it will be all over but the shouting, or rather, the wailing.
