Ive watched a few times and tear up each time. I hope youll take time to watch and share if so led.
I also shared the following disclaimer of sorts on Facebook and feel I should here as well. This ISN'T about generational labels or generational wars. Ken never had children and was never very active politically, so he frames this as an apology. I hope that doesn't deter those who HAVE been fighting the good fight our entire lives from watching. Most of us here are heartbroken about what the younger generations are facing, and we continue the fight through angry tears, regardless of our generation label. Personally, I identify as Generation Jones, not boomer (lol), and even though I have been fighting my whole life, I resonate with Ken's apology.
KEN'S INTRO:
I have been in the workshop for the last three weeks editing together this video. It is (for lack of a better analogy) my answer to We Didnt Start the Fire since some of us were not the quickest on the scene with a bucket of water. There is a lot to unpack both visually and aurally so it would not hurt my feelings if you watch it a couple times.

(309 posts)I think it is too long, but I think it has a TON of potential!! The guy singing should be seen more in the video and there should be more images of children, teenagers, young adults listening to his words. The second half is the best part.
Just my two cents...

(56,849 posts)3 pictures there, of the sad-looking boomer in the bar. Real photos, ideally of himself, would have been much better. Especially since this is HIS apology.
I appreciate your saying that, because I really dislike people encouraging generational conflict and suggesting, ever, that everyone in one generation owes an apology to everyone in another generation. That completely ignores the reality that, worldwide, the most important decisions are often made by powers that be, elites that are difficult to influence. As we're seeing now. And even when the majority strongly oppose what TPTB are doing, it isn't always possible to stop them - though it's important to try.

(23,751 posts)the fact that he only became and outspoken in the last 10 years is significant to his apology. Most of us here have been fighting for decades - many decades. While I still resonate with the message and have apologetic feelings toward younger people, even though I know Ive done my best, a lot of older activists bristle at the title (something I hope hell reconsider). The generational stuff is brutal. I think were all tired and heartbroken, though not beaten.
Thanks for your thoughts. And I wish I could spot AI better.

(37,139 posts)until you look closely.
1st image - sharp focus on the man, but unnaturally smoothed + out of focus background. On a closer look, two bones from the middle finger knuckle, amputated thumb and the pointer finger inside the martini glass with the third outside the glass. Try that grip on a martini glass and tell me how it works out.
2nd image - similar quality with olives floating vertically in the martini glass without touching each other, and a shadow martini glass inside the actual glass.
3rd image - similar quality with a wet-T-shirt look to his business shirt (unnatural folds toward the tie which make it look wet).
Look for the surreal perfection, excessive smoothing (like a softening filter has been applied), blurred background (generally sharp, then blurred, with no gradual transition, as would be present with a real photo). Then let your gaze wander looking for anything that is "off." You're sure to find a few things that just aren't quite right.
