For patrol cars to drive by these flooded areas with their sirens blaring or with large loudspeakers to warn of the danger? How much money would that have cost? Very little, I would suspect. They were simply unprepared for the disaster. They can spin all they want.

Floods tend to close roads and bridges, and driving around at night in a pouring rain/flood isn't a great idea.

But because it came from a Democrat, they refused it, now these people are dead. Its a big story out there.

....or the bridges washed out. In my opinion, they just dropped the ball on it. Let the states handle it. They saw no role for the Federal government. That's why Noem took 72 hours to even get involved.
