'That is shocking': Why Texas' governor won't release his emails with Elon Musk

Gov. Greg Abbott doesn’t want to reveal months of communications with Elon Musk or representatives from the tech mogul’s companies, arguing in part that they are of a private nature, not of public interest and potentially embarrassing.

Musk had an eventful legislative session in Texas this year. In addition to his lobbyists successfully advocating for several new laws, Abbott cited the Tesla and SpaceX CEO as the inspiration for the state creating its own efficiency office and has praised him for moving the headquarters for many of his businesses to the state in recent years.

Initially, the governor’s office said it would take more than 13 hours to review the records. It provided a cost estimate of $244.64 for the work and required full payment up front. The Texas Newsroom agreed and cut a check.

After the check was cashed, the governor’s office told The Texas Newsroom it believed all of the records were confidential and asked Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, whose office referees disputes over public records, to allow the documents to be kept private.

The higher up in the food chain you are, the less subject you are to any “law”.

You’ll have better luck forcing a regular government employee to talk over any elected official.

Looks guilty, acts guilty, I think a strong case is putting it mildly AF and we all know it!

I need not degrade the message with his other BS, easy search for that.

And after the biblical floods Texas is experiencing and the transcripts and videos of the residents of Kerr County votes for these venomous snakes.

And sorry governor I’m a 5th generation Texan and everything our government does affects all of us.

How much money is Greg Abbott on a personal level?

Greg Abbott is CORRUPT along with ALL republicans, but Abbott, Paxton, and Patrick are vile as can be.

I don't mean the flood, but Texas has to suffer more from their corrupt Repuke government. Voters either have to learn their lesson, or deal with the consequences of their votes. Let their State turn to shit.
