The judge had their names are redacted in the court documents. Can't an appellate court order the names to be shown?
And then, of course, there is Trump. Who among us wasn't skeived, looking at the photo of Trump in the back of a limo, with Princess Sparkle Pony draped over him. She was approximately 14 years old in the photo.
Or when he would enter the dressing room of contestants in the teenage beauty contest that he ran.
A number of girls were trafficked to the island. The only names to ever come out in pubic were Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. And only Andrew was accused of sex with a minor.

(1,020 posts)I'm curious, what lawyer is going to be taking what case to which appellate court, and on what grounds, to ask for these names to be exposed?
And there's a whole litany of skeevy pics of IQ47 and Princess Sparkle Pony, but the one that really takes the cake to me is not a photo, but the fact that he went on The View and told a tableful of WOMEN, including Ivanka herself, that if she wasn't his daughter, maybe he'd be dating her. Can you imagine how mortified Ivanka must've been, omfg!!!

(17,619 posts)I can think of a software executive turned philanthropist, two physicists, and a washed up actor, just right off the top of my head. But like I said, red flags, so I won't name them specifically.

(3,345 posts)I wont assume all of them had sex with underage girls. Just the names without other evidence linking them to a crime isnt useful.

(14,013 posts)I'm not going to blame the partisans for making as much hay as they can while the fire is hot. But am I, personally, really invested in this 'story'? Waiting with bated breath? At this point I'm not even truly convinced there IS much of a story.

(8,114 posts)If so, then most of these couldn't even be prosecuted.
Usually 5 years on a statute of limitations.
So why is it a big deal if the names come out?

(3,345 posts)Im not on the list so I have nothing to worry about.
All Im saying is he was connected some how to every possible person you could think of from religious leaders to political leaders, royalty, business tycoons, and academics. Some portion of them were probably involved in the sex stuff, and some were just there for money or other favors.

Today my paywall remover was acting up, but it might work for others.
"The Epstein story mattered so much in MAGA circles because it was a key element in their indictment of Americas so-called ruling class. Trumps appeal to the Republican base isnt just rooted in his supporters extraordinary affection for the man; its also rooted in their almost indescribably dark view of the American government.
Why are they so keen to burn it all down? Well, if you believe your government is populated by people so depraved that theyd participate in and cover up the systematic sexual abuse of children, then you wouldnt just want them out of office; youd want them prosecuted, imprisoned and maybe even executed. And youd want all the power youd need to make that happen."
"And if you believe that the ruling elites would abuse children, then theyd certainly be the kind of people whod gin up a Russia hoax or try to steal an election in 2020. People who are that terrible are capable of anything. And if you wonder why MAGA turned on the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice, well, its not just about the Russia investigation or the F.B.I. search of Trumps home in Mar-a-Lago. MAGA America also believed the F.B.I. was protecting pedophiles to preserve the status quo.
On the right, the Epstein story became the thinking mans version of the QAnon conspiracy theory the idea that American society was led by a gang of cannibalistic pedophiles. Whereas QAnon was rooted in the imaginary revelations of a shadowy figure who claimed Q security clearance, at least the Epstein story was rooted in some very grim, very real facts."

And of course pretty girls in a tropical island. I don't think they were there to sample underage girls.
Even though Epstein certainly was a pedophile.
