This is a huge beat- up/subterfuge/distraction/interference/disguise....... So what's the REAL story?

Family Values, Small Government, States Rights, God & Country, Freedom... they're all t-shirt slogans they wear as fashion statements, but hold no real place in their hearts. Their only true value held is number of tickets sold, the rest are just commodities the carnival barker has been using to sell tickets.

Either there is something worthy of prosecution or it will put a definitive end to the rumors - kind of like discovering there is no basement at Comet Ping Pong Pizza.

TSF is all over this from the days he associated with the Democratic Party. I tend to look at him as a co pimp with Epstein.

Clinton was around, but the girls who were on the island were pretty much on the record as saying nothing nefarious happened when he was there. I forget which documentary they were in saying that, but I do remember seeing it because I was relieved.

Bill Richardson was up to his eyeballs in it.

Then .... Trump says " don't speak of Epstein". Now, I suspect that some suckered true believers think he is playing high level chess and the pieces are all being allowed to get in the right places .. and then Trump will capture all involved. Others may be the ones questioning whether Trump is who they made him out to be. If they fully grasp that he isn't, they will be angry at being deceived.

However, more may prefer to stay in the he's working on it camp as it is far more comfortable than losing what may have become their main accomplishment in their own view, being a follower of Trump.

The religious like wording their or intentional. Some believed in the first term that he was an imperfect vessel to accomplish God's goals. After the assignation, some may see him as the God ordained leader. Rejecting all of that, returns them in many cases to small, unsuccessful, meaningless lives after their feeling special for years. Not to mention, communities have become more politically homogeneous. Just as I really have no friends or family who support Trump, they may risk the alienation of all their friends and family if they turn on Trump.

We laughed at the photoshopped images of Trump that made him better looking, slimmer, healthier and athletic, but maybe we should see them as modern day RW icons.

...pretty much everything they believe is complete BS? On some level it has to be difficult to maintain all of these stances that run completely counter to basic verifiable evidence.

But this second Turnip Administration is definitely making it hard on them. The first was marked by a number of people in the inner circle that actually did know what they were doing and valued the Constitution and the institutions of government. They made the Abominable Orange Man seem much more normal than he actually is. The new Administration has none of those type of people--and it is showing. Add to that a completely compliant Supreme Court and far fewer Republicans in Congress that are not onboard with all of the insanity, and you leave far fewer places for the craziness to hide--so it's all out in the open this time.

End the war in Ukraine on day one? Nope. End the Gaza conflict with a phone call? Nope. Kick out millions of immigrant rapists and murderers? Nope. End America's involvement in foreign wars? Obviously nope. Magically bring down prices on everyday items and "the groceries"? Nope. Make IVF free for everyone? Nope. Protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid? Nope. Reduce the deficit and national debt? Huge nope. Bring back American manufacturing? Nope. Prosecute the "Biden crime family"? Nope. Expose the global-elite pedophile ring and clandestine adrenochrome factories through the Epstein "files"? A big slap in the nope.

Sure, they are getting a lot of the culture war red meat they always wanted, but so much of that is falling flat just as any childish fantasy is want to do. It turns out measles vaccines are actually effective. It looks like maybe destroying FEMA and the Department of Education aren't such a great idea after all. Those tariffs that promised to bring in so much money from foreign countries that we could eliminate the income tax altogether are actually looking more like a sales tax on the American consumer every day. It turns out that most immigrants are actually hard-working people here to make a better life for themselves and their family and actually contribute more than they take from the country. Nobody thought that just a few months in their favorite Mexican restaurant would be short-staffed. Was that busboy really an international drug kingpin? Who knew? And when will I be able to make a lowball bid for a building on Harvard's shuttered campus?

All the winning gets really exhausting....
