MI-SEN: Rogers' (R) early fundraising lags that of top Democratic contenders in Michigan Senate race
Washington ― Republican former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers raised more than $1.5 million last quarter in his bid for Michigan's open seat in the U.S. Senate and closed out with $1.9 million in cash reserves, his campaign said Tuesday.
The amount nearly doubles Rogers' first fundraising quarter of the 2024 cycle, $824,000, and comes in the wake of last week's news that his super political action committee, the Great Lakes Conservatives Fund, brought in more than $5 million, according to The Hill.
But the fundraising number reported by his campaign came in under what some U.S. House candidates across the country reported Tuesday and less than the totals reported by Michigan's three top Democratic primary contenders for Senate in recent weeks.
Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens of Birmingham has said she will report over $2.5 million in receipts, including $1.2 million transferred from her U.S. House account. State Sen. Mallory McMorrow of Royal Oak previously said her haul topped $2.1 million, and public health official Abdul El-Sayed of Ann Arbor last week said he raised $1.8 million.
