Jim Jordan will now have to answer questions under oath about wrestling team scandal

Alternate
Story by Carl Gibson

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who chairs the powerful House Judiciary Committee, will soon be questioned under oath in a sworn deposition, according to a new report.

According to Columbus, Ohio-based NBC affiliate WCMH, Jordan will be questioned specifically about what he knew regarding former Ohio State University wrestling team doctor Richard Strauss' sexual abuse of student athletes. WCMH reported Wednesday that Jordan will be deposed this coming Friday in Washington D.C. as part of civil lawsuits former Ohio State wrestlers filed against the school.

and they always get away with it.

Meanwhile, a Democrat makes a flippant comment and it's all anyone talks about for weeks or months.

HBO’s documentary about a sexual abuse scandal in the Ohio State University athletic department has a premiere date.

The premium outlet will debut Surviving Ohio State, which counts George Clooney among its producers, on June 17 (it will also stream on Max). The film features several survivors of abuse at the hands of Dr. Richard Strauss, an Ohio State athletics doctor from 1978-98, telling the stories of what happened to them and how they have tried to hold the university accountable for Strauss’ actions.

HBO has also released a trailer for the documentary; watch it below.

All of this happened at least 30 years ago, so Jordan can get away with a lot of forgetfulness. Also Richard Strauss died 20 years ago, so there's nobody to contradict Jordan about what he knew and when he knew it.

If Jordan has a decent defense lawyer, he'll get out of this by not remembering much.

This will not go well for him. This is part of civil lawsuits. The article does not specify if specific damages or how much are being sought against Jordan, but based on previous published accounts from many of the wrestlers, I can certainly see Jordan being held liable for some damages. Of course, he's never going to be held criminally responsible for anything - that ship sailed long ago.

No response.
Jordan himself, however, as chair of the House Judiciary Committee, has issued 90+ subpoenas.

The Chancellor at OSU, should be subpoenaed as well, since they claimed they did an investigation, on both Strauss & Jordan, that was never made public, as far as I know.

Jacketoff Gym Jordan, finally being subpoenaed to give a formal deposition in the lawsuit filed by his former Ohio State wrestling players. Technically, he’ll have to answer questions about what he knew and when. Buuuut, as we all know (don’t need Karnak the Magnificent to predict that) Gym will never answer a question without lying and/or taking the Fifth.
