It could be reworded into a Hank Williams Jr. song from 1982

ETA: I remember the lyrics from high school...."We say grace, and we say ma'am and if you ain't into that, well we don't give a damn"

Called "Defiance Til Death".

Robert L. Arnold's "Defiance Til Death":
This is a collection of essays, poems, and polemics that critiques American society and its institutions.
Arnold's work challenges patriotism, capitalism, and historical narratives, exposing what he sees as hypocrisy and injustice.
His writing is described as fierce, unapologetic, and rooted in the experiences of the working class and marginalized communities.
The book is intended as a call to action, urging readers to confront uncomfortable truths and resist oppression.

I haven't heard of him....His accent doesn't sound quite middle or east Tennessee..Possibly Oklahoma, Arkansas or maybe western Kentucky?

Most people hear a southern accent and group them all together... There are variations that I can hear since I live here.

and yeah, everything he said used to be true, I knew those guys and it's how "good people get to be wrong" got emblazoned among my rules for living, although below "never argue with a crazy person."

I don't know why so many southerners have remained loyal to a party that patently panders to the worst they have to offer and then sells them out year after year, but I know it started when our party was responsible for extending human and legal rights to people the south once regarded as simple property, something that should be another source of shame.

As for this guy, I hope he posts more. This is pure poetry.
