General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCan we PLEASE have some clarity on what the Epstein "List" is referring to?
I'm still seeing politicos calling for the release of the "List" when in fact they should be calling for the release of the complete files with documentation (redacting only the victims' information).
If the FBI has compiled its own list of persons of interest, then that's a separate matter, but when Bondi said she had the "List" sitting on her desk it was likely referring to Epstein's contact list which she has already released in February, along with flight logs and other information:

Others have called this Epstein's little black book, but if you scour the internet, you will find an unredacted version that can be downloaded as part of a national security archive. (I won't link to it because it contains addresses and phone numbers.) Bondi and Trump don't want to draw attention to this because Blaine and Robert Trump (Donald's deceased brother) are listed above the address for "Trump Management Inc." in the unredacted version.

(1,484 posts)Some in "the press" refer to it in the literal sense to deflect & misdirect from what the public understands it as:
"the list" = "the criminals who the traitors in our federal and state governments refuse to prosecute"

(13,528 posts)is that this is also an international problem, with many of Ghislaine's associates being British and Epstein's being Israeli or Russian.
When you have dirt on foreign dignitaries or powerful people, then the US can use this as leverage over other nations, to force them to act in the America's interest, or in Trump's case, in his interest. This is where "intelligence" and counterintelligence comes into play, and it could be why Acosta claimed in an interview that he was told that Epstein was an intelligence asset and to let go of his case against Epstein in the Florida district.
Trump received a 21 gun salute last time he visited London, and he's looking forward to his upcoming visit with the King in the UK. According to Fox News: "Trump suggests US could join British Commonwealth if offered by King Charles"

For fucks' sake!! Who put this idea in his head?

(44,027 posts)Theres a file that contains thousands of pages with many names, most of them coincidental to Epsteins actual crimes, and probably a small few that arent.
People insisting on a literal list are searching for fools gold.

(17,767 posts)It only contains the names of passengers and the dates they traveled.
You can infer that frequent travelers were there for the girls, but that is not what the list contains.
It is just passenger manifests, which confirms an individual visited the island on a specific date, or dates.
Tsf must be listed over and over to get this upset over it. Being named once doesn't mean much in itself.

It would be interesting to know who the paying clients for the masseuses were.

(77,373 posts)That's the question, really. There isn't a "list," other than flight logs, most of which do not still exist. There are the grand jury records, which if they were released would be redacted to the point of having ;ittle value. There are intelligence files, which will not be released.
Where the information that Democrats should want are found in the civil cases filed against Epstein etc.
