I guess they are behind the Paramount merger, Paramount+ now is shit and so is CBS too bad because I always like the sitcoms on CBS.

Larry's uber wealth is mostly because he owns 40% of Oracle, so his share is over $270 billion.
CBS & Paramount are mostly owned by Vanguard, Blackrock & various mutual funds.
Elison's name doesn't appear in the top 25 shareholders of either CBS or Paramount.
David Elison is loaded, but only a half-billion. Admittedly it was in the entertainment industry, but with that kind of capital, he's small potatoes.
Why does either network care what they want?

(73,628 posts)Still don't see why anybody in those companies cares what a kid with $500 million & a dad who has no interest in either company
Ellison is worth $290 billion.
$275 billion is his stake in Oracle.
And he owns about 5 billion in TSLA.
Not getting why anybody gives a darn about what they think of their companies.
In the entertainment industry, they're nothing.

(33,180 posts)However what I read is $8 billion merger and Ellison is funding 6 billion of it.
Is that wrong?

(73,628 posts)Given the numbers I found he doesn't have that kind of liquidity.
But, I doubt any investment bank would blink at lending money to someone that has 48x the amount needed to repay the whole principal.
More than likely, he's backing a loan, so it's not technically his money.

(3,047 posts)screwing up the America's Cup. Part of the fun of it was watching millionaires and billionaires wreck their fortunes competing against one another. Then he had to go and use NASCAR as a model to try to make it profitable. He did get his wish in one way and the America's Cup had it's first death a few years back.

(1,854 posts)Now I understand the slanted interviews after a disaster. They are part of CBS.
They find the Karens' and the Democratic leadership bashers and give them extended airtime to attack Gov. Newsom and Mayor Bass.
How obvious? I wrote them and called them out.
We'll look into it. Another Chumpian response.
Trust level lowered. Same with 60 Minutes.
The same with America. No trust, No credibility!
