How is this defensible in any way shape or form? (Graphic)

Gaza suffering man-made mass starvation, says WHO chief

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus issues warning, as more than 100 aid groups urge Israel to ease blockade

Gaza is suffering man-made mass starvation caused by the blockade of aid into the territory, the head of the World Health Organization has said, as more than 100 agencies urged Israel to let supplies in to alleviate the crisis.

“I don’t know what you would call it other than mass starvation, and it’s man-made, and that’s very clear,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a virtual press conference from Geneva. “This is because of [the] blockade.”

A letter signed by 109 agencies including Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam International and Amnesty International says the Israeli government is blocking humanitarian organisations from effectively distributing life-saving aid.

“Just outside Gaza, in warehouses – and even within Gaza itself – tonnes of food, clean water, medical supplies, shelter items and fuel sit untouched with humanitarian organisations blocked from accessing or delivering them,” the agencies wrote. “The government of Israel’s restrictions, delays, and fragmentation under its total siege have created chaos, starvation, and death.”

Yet the debate is over whether or not ICC was right to accuse Israel of genocide? Honestly, semantics does not hlthe2b Jul 23 #1
It's not. In the future I'm sure some will regret their defense of how this conflict was prosecuted. harumph Jul 23 #2
How can the citizens of Israel justify their support of netanyahu? Think. Again. Jul 23 #3

justify the 100s of thousands of innocent civilians, NGO physicians, and aid-workers whom the IDF has brutally killed since the initiation of the response to October 7. And, no, I would never claim Israel was not justified to go after Hamas after that horror against their citizens. Somehow, the argument against the genocide accusations--however inappropriate the term might be (now), loses most of its validity when you look at the ongoing callous deprivation and decimation of Gaza's citizen population

To let these innocent civilians starve- as has been occurring for more than a year now, or be systematically murdered by IDF ("accidentally," of course ) in line for the aid stations for food or medical care--one would think that NO ONE could even TRY to justify that- yet they do. The world was largely on the side of Israel for a long time after October 7, and their fight against Hamas--as they SHOULD have been. But Netanyahu has proven that he can be Israel's worst enemy in this--rapidly turning the caring world against him and Israel's policies and tactics. Israel IS a signatory to the Geneva Conventions and many others, yet... The world knows that Trump is a bumbling, corrupt, callous monster who cares nothing for the American people and our future. They likewise know the same about Netanyahu and Israel. Self-preservation apparently motivates both Über alles (yes, I meant to use that phrase as the literal meaning fits with both).

There is NO justification. NONE.

A moral crisis on so many levels. To stipulate who started it (this round) does not in any
way mitigate how morally grotesque this has become. It might be a good time to reacquaint ourselves with lessons of collective punishment irrespective of how ethical (some) of the collective are.

rigtht here on DU where we value truth and honesty there's this.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/1134144326

In the Israel/Palestine group.. the title is: "No, Israel Is Not Committing Genocide in Gaza"

and then there's this, also in the Israel/Palestine group: https://www.democraticunderground.com/1134144322 which states:
"IDF: No famine in Gaza, but if UN keeps holding back 950 trucks, could be."

I read somewhere that DU is fake news.. well there's plenty of that in some groups where no pushback is welcomed or even allowed.
