Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsJake Tapper found his fact checking chops this morning and used them against an R!
Mark Wayne (or whatever his name is, bless his heart) Mullin (R) was on CNN this morning and it went something like this:
Mullin: There was a sweetheart plea deal that was struck in 2009 under Obama.
Tapper: No. It was 2008. The US attorney was Alex Acosta. He was a Bush appointee. He went on to become Trump's secretary of labor.
Mullin: Who was in office at the time?
Tapper: Bush.
Mullin: No. Obama was in office.
Tapper:Not true.
So.... credit where credit is due. Now get going on trump's obvious and dangerous
mental decline, Jake, and you MAY salvage some of your reputation.

(13,186 posts)I'm sure Tapper has friends that are Democrats, it must have been a long time since he could look then in the eye.

(24,009 posts)I am kind of praising him, but it is tongue in cheek. He has a long way to go in my book to redeem himself as a reporter.

(29,355 posts)She thought Canada should be in the Gulf War and kept insisting that they'd fought in Vietnam. Mansbridge corrected her over and over. It was maddening. Did she blank out that people went to Canada to avoid the draft?

(51,008 posts)One of the local mamby pamby ball lickers supported Bush, because that was the thing to do back then. But, a year later he was crying, asking why it was so hard to get other countries to join in and help them. My comment: You do know what the definition of unilateral is, don't you?

(133 posts)You get a blue chip on this one Jake. Keep it up. I have never figured out why MSM asks the questions and when the replys are lies, no forcing the truth from the liar, just on to the next question. Call the SOB's out. (balls/blue chips) simple equation. Use your clock wisely.
