But that orange POS did.

(126,872 posts)but as a spa attendant . Her job was to greet guests, hand out towels, etc., not give massages. Maxwell "hired" her for Epstein to do that but there's no evidence she or other kids ever actually gave massages at Trump's spa. The situation was still creepy but facts are facts.

(47,652 posts)The source is not named, but is apparently knowledgeable enough about the goings on at MAL that they knew Epstein was procuring girls from the spa. However, this source used the word masseuse and used the very cautious phrase "about 18 years old" instead of her real age. It sounds like something Trump would say and he was known to often call media to plant the story angles he wanted. If not Trump, then someone highly Trump-adjacent. It's all very strange.

(126,872 posts)He might remember her from when Epstein via Maxwell poached her from Mierda-Lardo, which would have been in 2000. She was the daughter of a MAL employee, which is how she got the job in the first place, so he might have been more likely to remember her for that reason; or he might remember her name from more recent events, including Maxwell's trial and her suicide a few months ago. But it's all kind of suspect, because he didn't offer the complaint that Epstein was "stealing" his employees as his reason for cutting off his friendship with Epstein until just recently. Previously he had claimed the reason was that Epstein had harassed the daughter of a MAL guest (this was in 2007). Or, it could have been due to a bidding war between them for some property in 2004. The reason for their falling-out remains unclear, and Trump keeps coming up with different explanations. Here's a timeline: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/the-facts-and-timeline-of-trump-and-epsteins-falling-out

An innocent person would have said they didn't know names of low level employees or remember them 20 years later. Creating no further complications.

(47,652 posts)at the type of high class resort Trump pretends MAL is. Bussing tables in the restaurant? Sure. Caddies in training? Sure. Working retail in the pro shop? Sure, if there is a pro shop. Working in the spa? No, no, no.
Wouldnt any customers who were not pervs be very uncomfortable with the possibility of running into a teenager while wearing only a towel? Maybe the MAL spa didnt have any non-perv customers.

I always figured there wasn't much wrong with her, she'd just grown up in an even sicker world than I did.

The eye opener for me was that such families exist. My own extended family was completely bonkers, something my mother finally admitted shortly before she died, but they didn't sell their pubescent girl children to middle aged perverts.

(6,750 posts)So why all of a sudden does everyone want to believe what Trump said here? It was an obvious lie. He said Epstein "stole" his staff but Giuffre left Mar-A-Lago in 2000, at least 4 years before Trump stopped associating with Epstein. And he clearly didn't remember Giuffre's name. He was asked a question , and the reporter named her, he didn't. And his immediate response was "I don't know". As someone else pointed out, in 2000, her name was Virginia Roberts not Giuffre. He responded like he did because he clearly has been following the news about the Epstein files, and Virginia Giuffre's name has been in the media quite a lot recently detailing her story. He was lying about kicking Epstein out over "stealing" staff and then when her name came up, he viewed that as an opportunity to back up his lie. There is no evidence Virginia Roberts/Giuffre ever even met Trump during the very short time she worked there. I would bet any amount of money that he has no idea who she even is/was.
MadameButterfly

The other half of his voters believe he never lies, is their savior--practically Jesus Christ--and buy into Quanon, cabals of blood-drinking Democratic pedophiles, etc. and generally are shut off from reality.

(13,626 posts)I believe it's been reported that the redacted Epstein files may show that Epstein was supposed to act as an informant for the state of Florida, thus this may be the reason Acosta considered him "intelligence." I wouldn't be surprised if he was supposed to report on people like Trump.
