Finnish Prez: Russia wants the equivalent of Florida,Georgia,South Carolin,North Carolina,Virginia & part of Maryland.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, in an interview with NBC News, vividly illustrated the scale of potential Russian occupation of Ukrainian territory by translating it into US proportions:

“For the American audience, the best way to explain this is that if you take the relative land area that Russia now wants from Ukraine, it would be a bit like giving up Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, even Virginia and part of Maryland.”

Interestingly, the listed states made up most of the Confederacy’s territory, which Washington brought back into the Union after the Civil War of 1861–65.

Finnish President Stubb put it plainly: â€œTo help Americans grasp the scale of Russiaâ€™s territorial ambitions in Ukraine, imagine having to give up Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia.â€

And asked them what they would do if Russia invaded and occupied Alaska and Hawaii (I'm a West coaster)? Would they just cede to Putin the land instead of fighting to maintain it? What kind of patriotism is that?

I've yet to receive an answer.

actually occupies is the equivalent of two of those states.

If the EU and Ukraine give up any land to Putin after the 2022 attack, they'll be permitting his further attacks.
Putin's war is a forever war against the West until his dying day.
War is profitable in failing states like Russia.

NATO and Ukraine need to call his bluff about taking the West down with him.
