Marcus Lemonis insults California, wont reopen bath and body here

He seemed like a good guy on his reality show..I guess he is just a right wing jerk

Gov. Newsom reacts to Bed Bath & Beyond's refusal to open stores in California
https://ca.news.yahoo.com/gov-newsom-reacts-bed-bath-232617492.html

LOS ANGELES – Bed Bath & Beyond announced that its comeback will not include locations in the largest state in the nation.

Marcus Lemonis, Bed Bath & Beyond Executive Chairman said in a statement issued Aug. 20 that the company will not open a brick-and-mortar location in California. Lemonis said that the state, home to over 39 million people, will be served solely through delivery.

"We’re taking a stand because it’s time for common sense," the statement reads. "Businesses deserve the chance to succeed. Employees deserve jobs that last. And customers deserve fair prices. California’s system delivers the opposite

----

"After their bankruptcy and closure of every store, like most Americans, we thought Bed, Bath & Beyond no longer existed," California Gov. Gavin Newsom's press office said in response to the announcement on X. "We wish them well in their efforts to become relevant again as they try to open a 2nd store."

___

Lemonis also fought San Joaquin County when Camping World, for whom Lemonis serves as CEO, installed an oversized flag pole to fly an American flag without proper permits – county officials told the Los Angeles Times in 2024.

We just stared The Fixer last night & he mentioned the flag in an episode—just that he loved his country & had a giant flag over one of his stores, nothing about issues with it.

You're right, he seems like a decent guy on the show. Looks like he's lost a little weight since the last show of his that we watched.

I've closed my account on their online portal.

New Jersey needs to do something to block them from opening a brick and mortar here.

I was getting their emails, but not buying anything. And now I certainly won't. I took myself off their email list yesterday.

Attaway to lock yourself out of a very affluent market of 40 million people, genius. All BBB's competitors don't seem to have trouble operating here in CA, even JC Penney! BBB is dead, and this jackass' attitude makes it assuredly so.

This is like the in n out ceo making a huge thing of leaving then needing to say it was a personal move and they plan to expand.

bbb went bankrupt and probably can't afford many places.

They are just making random statements to try to complain about california becsuse they are right wing but has nothing to do with their real business plans.

There is a business that is called Bath and Body Works. It is NOT the same as Bed, Bath and Beyond. Please don't confuse the two. Bath and Body Works is great and they have many outlets here in California. Bed, Bath and Beyond is totally different and they haven't been around in California in quite a while...and we don't miss them.

They are not the same as Bed Bath and Beyond. People get them mixed up all the time. Bath and Body Works is a good store. They are inclusive and retain their DEI policies when others have dropped them.

keep crying at how hard the world treats them.
