"That was one of the most batshit press conferences of Trump's public life.

He brandished a photo of Putin and promised to deploy the US military to occupy Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. A sane country would be moving toward impeachment and removal now." Aaron Rupar just wrote on bluesky.

Did anyone have the stomach to watch it? Is this the press conference that just happened where he wore his red hat in the Oval and looked exhausted?

It must have been something if Rupar thinks it was "one of the most batshit" conferences of trump's life. Think of the competition.

I always leaned against owning one.

However, with Trump in office and all that's going on, I'm starting to reconsider.

A free press informs the public, holds leaders accountable + provides a forum for debate of local + national issues.

In a democracy, the press should operate free from governmental control. Democratic governments do not have
ministries of information to regulate content of newspapers or the activities of journalists; requirements that
journalists be vetted by the state; or force journalists to join government-controlled unions.

Obviously, Krasnov has moved the goalposts in this regard. What shall we call Krasnov's purveyours of propaganda???

IMO the media should not selectively run these diatribes of his. People need to see the whole thing, and in a normal world, there would be follow ups from the "journalists." But just running the most normal few seconds her and there is sanewashing.

I wish they'd all agree to get tough with him. He's not about to ban them all* becauae then he'd have no audience, and part of his psychopathy is the need for the biggest one he can get.

If all journalists in this country received thousands of letters, emails, texts from their viewers begging
them to stand up to this administration before it's to late. I think MSM has waiting to find out when
their viewers were going to "get mad as hell and not take it any more."

Time to let them know we're mad as hell and ask what they are up to and why.

But the fact that Trump did this Oval Office event while wearing a hat that said, “Trump Was Right About Everything” — in a big, all-caps font — added a Mad King vibe to already bonkers circumstances.

Outside of rw propaganda networks, I don’t think the reporters/pundits are an “enemy of the people” to go after (that’s the fascist hangup). It’s probably largely a group comprised of uninspired/frustrated employees who are told not to rock the boat by CEOs who apparently have chosen (for now) to go along with the Trump delusion.

Trump/Heritage foundation mess loyalists are already desperate and essentially backed into a corner, because when they choose to abuse people, word gets out in ways they didn’t/were too stupid to account for. Individual’s names like Garcia and others aren’t forgotten, the news of who is being primarily targeted is shared across multiple apps/platforms.

This represents our foundation for a newer, more courageous media response to what they’re attempting.

I don’t think people even give their first look to TV media/corporate networks anymore. The far right knows this, that’s why they went into podcasts to seek influence.

I think eventually, post-Trump, they won’t ever be the same anyway. Instead of a place for nightly news everyone watches, it’ll probably be (talking about TV news) something people put on in the background like a thanksgiving day parade that has a mix of short documentaries, national weather, softer reporting that isn’t investigative per se, but also not corporate ass kissery.

Investigative journalism, for better or worse, will tend to work (or meet its new challenges) through a network of more decentralized information sharing devices and technology.
