This is the second mailer I received in as many days to vote no on the California redistricting. It is pretty

clear the rethugs are spending a lot of money to try and get it defeated, and the reasoning is obvious, they are afraid they will lose the House.

The first mailer tries to implicate the League of Women voters as supporting their effort. They are not, though on general principals the LWV is against redistricting. That group is Project Voters First, funded by rethug Charles T. Munger jr. pushing the hypocrisy that it is a "threat to democracy, mid-cycle redistricting. Of course this group was silent on what Texas did. www.fppc.ca.gov.

The second mayor directly goes after Newsom and "Sacramento incumbents" to perform "Unconstitutional Gerrymandering. That group is named "right path California", ProtectFairElections.org
While the first flyer they openly say who is funding it, this one is much more devious and hidden. They try to claim they are "non-partisan". Sure, they are non-partisan in the same way that North Korea is a "democratic republic. What I found reddit was that "right path california is led by former chairwoman of the CA republican party Jessica Millan Patterson. I suspect that is accurate, but the bottom line is they are NOT non-partisan, and are pushing a massive campaign to defeat redistricting.

The latest polling on this has the ballot winning, but in that poll there are 20% undecided, and that could be a issue. Hopefully, Californians are smart enough to vote for the redistricting to offset the thuggery going on with the Texas redistricting.

The latest redistricting in 2020 took a strip from Yorba Linda all the way down through Mission Viejo. Splitting cities like Tustin and Irvine.

The proposed redesign puts the cities back together. This was almost the exact alignment that Katie Porter represented.

For those outside of the area, Orange County is basically split in two, North OC and South OC and the current alignment has a long strip across the top of the County, and I believe includes some of western Riverside County, then fully down the eastern edge of The OC.

I can’t remember the last time I spent a dime in Yorba Linda, yet spend weekly in Irvine, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest. So the 2010 and proposed alignment is much more logical. A strip from the Southern OC border along The I-5 then continuing along the I-405? to John Wayne airport.

Represented on a map it is basically square other than the coastline to the west and Cleveland National Forest/mountain ranges to the east and north.

Again, it represents where most residents live, work, and spend. All cities are similar in age and demographics. Another way to look at it, if your kid was in HS sports, every game/match would be be in the same CD in the regular season.

Katie Porter had a single office, in Irvine, I drove by it daily on my way to work. It was a 20 minute drive or less for well over 80 percent (likely 90) of the constituents, 30 minutes tops for everyone else.

Current Congesswoman Kim has two offices, one in North OC and one in South OC due to the overall length of the CD.

Point being, the proposed CD is LESS gerrymandered than the current CD.
