Kilmar Abrego Garcia

He was released from federal custody on parole on Friday and had a tearful reunion with his family after months apart.
Minutes after his release, immigration authorities notified Abrego that they intend to deport him to Uganda.
Out of the country, out of the hemisphere.
Why?
a) He knows too much.
b) He would be able to do the talk-show circuit.
c) He could file lawsuits against the trump adminestrone.

4. 🏆 yep I've said the same here many times. They'll do anything to keep this out of court

They got caught and admitted a mistake. The lawyer who admitted it in court filings was fired. Garcia is walking proof of Trump being wrong no matter how far down the chain the mistake was made. He really thinks everyone is as consumed with him as he is. They got this charge to distract AND for their social media influencers to flood the zone and change the conversation. If they go to court and this trafficking charge is as crappy as it looks, Trump will be wrong again. Dear Leader can NOT be wrong.

10. Sadly, they can deport him to a third country even if he is found not guilty.

He has an active deportation order from 2019. The stipulation on that order is that he cannot be sent to El Salvador, but he can be sent to a third country. Garcia needs that deportation order to be completely cancelled and I guess that would be another case. I don't know if he can win that case.

2. They gave him the option to plead guilty to smuggling and be deported to Costa Rica.

He refused.

Costa Rica offered him asylum.

I don't know what the penalties for smuggling would be.

Even if he is found not guilty, they will likely deport him to a third country after his trial since there is an active deportation order on him from 2019. The 2019 order prohibits deporting him to El Salvador, but not a third country.

I think alot of Trump's actions against him are due to embarrassment. For some reason Fox News is demonizing this guy, which indicates that Trump is feeding them a narrative.

3. one thing that is not clear to me is what happens if they deport him to Uganda

Is he going to be taken into custody by the Ugandan authorities (on what charges??) or let go free in Uganda?

If the later, I hope people are mobilizing to provide him with resources (financial and otherwise) and get him out of Uganda to a more friendly country like a European country. He would not be able to go back to the US as long as the Trump regime is in charge, he cannot go back to his native Venezuela because he could be persecuted there. Uganda is not the safest place to establish residency.

6. If any European countries were interested in having him...

...they could have offered to let him be deported there.

And I'd be surprised if he were ever allowed to come back to the U.S. legally under any administration.

7. Some are speculating he would be deported back to El Salvador by Uganda.

He's from El Salvador, not Venezuela and he cannot be deported to El Salvador because of a 2019 court order. However, the 2019 order is a deportation order that allows him to be deported to a third country. Back then, the US rarely deported to third countries. And he wasn't exactly "high profile", so he was allowed to stay in the US.

8. Apparently Uganda has said they will treat him as a refugee,

Let him go free, and leave for Costa Rica- who likewise let him go free.

That’s what I understood from knowledgeable talking heads on MSNBC and/or CNN yesterday.

Trump (DOJ) will do anything to keep this trafficking charge out of court. It must be a real stinker.
