The countrys largest pharmacy chain said it needed a C.D.C. panel to recommend the shots before it could offer them nationwide.
CVS, the countrys largest pharmacy chain, is currently not offering Covid vaccines in 16 states, including Florida, New York and Pennsylvania, even to people who meet newly restricted criteria from the Food and Drug Administration.
Amy Thibault, a spokeswoman for CVS, cited the current regulatory environment as the reason the vaccine was not available in those states, or in the District of Columbia, emphasizing that the list could change. Legal experts said that federal decisions were creating an extremely difficult situation for pharmacies to navigate.
In some states, pharmacists are forbidden to administer vaccines that are not recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel.

If Wes Moores administration keeps Maryland off the list, restaurants, bars and cafés in his state near the borders with DC and NoVa are about to get a nice jump in business during hours that their pharmacies are open.

(21,653 posts)I picked up a prescription today. I asked them about the Covid booster, and they haven't heard about getting them in. The pharmicist said they haven't heard from cdc about Covid guidelines. I think there should be a campaign for Vaccinations on Demand. If that sounds familiar, it was an early slogan when the sane people in the U.S. was trying to get abortion rights. If we want protection from disease, and it's tested, safe and manufactured, we should be able to get it, regardless of what a mentally ill person dictates.

But to take it away from people who need it, or want it, is outrageous and will directly harm the health and wellbeing of many
