I hope we have a Democratic President in 2028, and that he / she revokes Trump's Secret Service protection immediately

Here's the context and the reason for this post:

I GET IT.

Trump HATES Kamala Harris because she is:

1). A WOMAN. Not a Fox "News" woman. Not Elaine Stefanik, the girl who never got asked to the prom, but who thinks she is Pinky Tuscadero in the Fonzie world of Donald Trump. Not Kari Lake or Marjorie Taylor Greene or Mary Ann With The Shakey Hand (Boebert).

She's a woman who represents Trump's worst nightmare...she does not stand in awe of Trump's meticulously manufactured false facade. She sees what the average DUer sees...a 79 year old man who is an adjudicated rapist and convicted felon. A man who buried his dead first wife on his golf course to score a tax break. A man who wants to "date" his own daughter. A man with six bankruptcies who cheated on all three of his marriages. A man who bought an autographed Tim Tebow helmet and a portrait of himself with money raised by his "charity," the same "charity" that helped itself to money raised for kids with cancer.

Kamala Harris DOES NOT SIT in awe and wonder, staring for hours at AI-generated "paintings" of Trump, shirtless, with tree-trunk bixeps, six-pack abs, and impossibly hard, perfect, symmetrical pecs.

She sees the tired old man on the golf course with a huge spare tire and sagging man boobs.

And because she's not cruel and inhuman like Trump, she SEES it...as we ALL DO...and doesn't say much about it, because America faces a MUCH GREATER CHALLENGE on a daily basis than confirming that Trump just had a successful bowel movement.

AND, you'll notice I haven't addressed ETHNICITY yet.

2). It's not the idea that I've written many DU posts about Trump's lifelong history with racism. It's the idea that no one needs me to tell the story. It's a couple of mouse clicks away for anyone who wants it.

Suffice it to say that Trump's WORST NIGHTMARE is a woman who meets the criteria I just described in #1 and #2.

She's not weak and submissive like Byron Donalds, Tim Scott, and any other African American man who TRULY believes their fealty to Trump will be RICHLY REWARDED. Last time I looked, it's the end of August, and neither of them have gotten anything of value from Dear Leader.

So this small, petty man, consumed with hate, breaks precedent once again and removes her Secret Service protection right before some high-profile public appearances.

Now is not the time to say "WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS"...not 8 months into Trump's insanely destructive second term.

No.

WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO BE BETTER THAN THIS. We have the ability to choose a more noble and suitable fate than the one chosen by 77 million Americans, and another 90 million who STAYED HOME last November.

The best thing about those "YOU ARE HERE" maps in shopping malls is that if "HERE" ain't where y'all want to be, YOU CAN MOVE YOUR ASS TO A BETTER PLACE.

I know Kamala has the strength and dignity and grace to understand how and why this happened to her.

And it sickens me to have the same insight. It's wrong, and that's what tickles Trump the most.

A future President can readily cut off family members as soon as they leave office, and Vice Presidential protection is not lifelong, but six months following leaving office. Now, I agree it SHOULD be extended (and Trump CAN do that)--given her threat level previously (and undoubtedly now), but he won't be forced to do so by this shitty Congress.

...and thank you for the clarification. I know it won't happen. I'm saying it should, while admitting it won't.

The President can just reduce Secret Service funds to zero for former President on a cost cutting basis. Isn't Trump rich enough to employ private security after all?

There is no modern precedent for an American president effectively wielding security details as a political tool — until now.

Outrageous! As much as he gins up hatred against women, minorities and democrats? Removing Kamala’s security?
I’m ready to protest….

Trump revokes Kamala Harris’ Secret Service protection, adding to outlandish list www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

It’s not yet clear what Kamala Harris’ future political plans are. The former vice president recently announced that she would not be a gubernatorial candidate in California next year, for example, and soon after, the Democrat announced she’d hold a series of public events to promote her upcoming book on last year’s presidential race.

But no matter what Harris does next, one thing suddenly seems clear: She won’t have Secret Service protection. NBC News reported:

President Donald Trump has revoked U.S. Secret Service protection for former Vice President Kamala Harris, a senior adviser to Harris told NBC News on Friday. ... A senior White House official confirmed Friday that Trump revoked Harris’ Secret Service detail, adding that vice presidents typically only get six months of protection when they leave office.

It’s true that while former presidents receive Secret Service protection for life, an expensive privilege, Harris’ protection was scheduled to expire after six months. That said, CNN was first to report that Joe Biden, before leaving the White House, approved an extension for an additional year.

Trump has now undone that policy......

If these developments seem familiar, it’s not your imagination. About a week into his second term, Trump started pulling security details from a variety of former officials, including former White House national security adviser John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former special envoy to Iran Brian Hook and Dr. Anthony Fauci — apparently out of spite.....

But while Harris is in good company, she’s also in a unique position: Of all the people on this list, she’s the only one to have been elected to national office.

For the record, there is no modern precedent for an American president effectively wielding security details as a political tool, stripping protection from those he deems unworthy. It’s one of the many ways Trump is breaking new ground — and not in a good way

I wonder if it could be leased for a few years.

I’m all for as much Secret Service is required to keep me from ever hearing a peep from this pos again if and once he’s ousted.

Oh, look there’s an Elba Island in MI. Even better.
