Six special elections for vacant seats -- three D's and one R -- in the U.S. House of Representatives are scheduled over the next three months (September, October, and November 2025) and into early December.
Scheduled congressional special elections
Virginia's 11th Congressional District: Election date: September 9, 2025.
This seat became vacant following the death of Rep. Gerry Connolly (D).
Arizona's 7th Congressional District: Election date: September 23, 2025.
The vacancy occurred after Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D) passed away.
Texas's 18th Congressional District: Election date: November 4, 2025.
This seat is vacant due to the death of Rep. Sylvester Turner (D).
Tennessee's 7th Congressional District: Election date: December 2, 2025.
This seat is being filled after Rep. Mark Green (R) resigned.
