With Donald Trump, it is ALWAYS the worst case scenario.

Some of the worst case scenarios may have been hidden behind the curtain of noise and static in the reality tv show atmosphere of Trump 1.0. We may never know the extent of the damage done.

In the early years of Trump 1.0, he removed approximately 30 CDC personnel from China. These are the scientists we have stationed all over the world for the purpose of surveillance and guidance. But DJT doesn't like bureaucrats and experts. DJT doesn't think the U.S. should be part of the global order and helping other countries.

The removal of those CDC agents got almost no press. Reuters covered it at the time, and a few other print media outlets picked up on it, but it didn't get the attention it warranted.

Certainly more surveillance would have prevented China from covering things up, in the Fall of 2019. Is it possible that if the CDC personnel remained in China, they would have caught the spread and helped contain it? I believe that is just as likely as not. After all, we have done so many times before, eg: Ebola.

In early 2020, DJT tried to cover up the threat of Covid. There has been extensive reporting and data identifying the 100's of thousands who died of Covid needlessly, due to the inadequate response from the Whitehouse. However, that reporting stops at the mismanagement aspects.

Imagine if no one needed to die in the U.S. Imagine if the Novel Coronavirus had been stopped in its tracks, and contained to only a few illnesses and deaths in China. Imagine if the world had been spared all, or most, of Covid. Imagine if we had been spared the enormous loss of life and broken lives and collateral damage we continue to live with, such as long Covid.

And as the possibility of DJT being given access to power and the Whitehouse a second time played out, many of us were sounding the alarm – it will be worse this time!

In the past seven months we have watched all the deliberate destruction of our bureaucratic infrastructure. And now that destruction has gutted the CDC. There is so much that can go wrong with the loss of scientists and expertise. The lack of inspections and standards is a disaster in the making.
