Troops are mostly staying in hotels and have access to hot meals around the clock, officials said.
The administration said it's not tallying the cost of all this yet and has no idea how much it will cost the federal government.

And good afternoon.

(34,006 posts)So they put down 15,200 cubic feet or probably 30,400 sq ft a little over a square mile if they put down six inches. Knowing this gang they laid it on thick.
I had never heard of mixing measurements of volume and weight together, except for figuring out specific gravities.
Now we don't have to worry if a bag of mulch is labeled as floating or not. All we have to do is weigh the bag of 0.6 cubic feet and voila! A quick search on the internet, and that's about enough thinking for this week. It's Friday.
Cheers

(74,546 posts)Cubic Yard, maybe. In fact, as someone who had bulk mulch delivered last year, that's the most common unit of sale.
We bought 26 yards³, or about 16,000#
380 cubic yards would be around 230,000#.
If it's 380 tons, then it's 760k#.
That seems more realistic.

(52,731 posts)yes, some mulch put around the shrubs. If they have time, maybe than can do a dump run with the trash, too.

(34,006 posts)National Guard spreads 380 cubic tons of mulch in DC
The DC National Guard has spread a lot of mulch, 380 cubic tons, and picked up trash in Washington, D.C., amid the Trump admin's push to combat crime in the nation's capital.
Troops are mostly staying in hotels and have access to hot meals around the clock, officials said.
The administration said it's not tallying the cost of all this yet and has no idea how much it will cost the federal government.

(65,291 posts)Nothing wrong with a job spreading mulch (or whatever), just seems a little off the advertisement, maybe a little overkill.

These guys don't get a choice so I don't know why so many people are mocking the guys on the ground. I seriously doubt a single one of them is enjoying this duty assignment.

(52,674 posts)380 yards of mulch is a shitload.
What I want to know: Some of the DC Army National Guard troops that were called up to do area beautification in the nation's capital (because Trump deported all the people who were doing it, don'tcha know?) are business owners. Every National Guard and Reserve unit has some business owners among its ranks. How is Trump planning to compensate the people who lose their businesses because they got called up to garden, or is he just going to tell them that's too fuckin' bad?
