Fact check: 10 debunked lies Donald Trump has repeated in the last week alone

President Donald Trump keeps saying the same false things over and over.

Trump’s lying has always been notable for its audacity – his willingness to make obviously untrue claims that can be very quickly debunked. But it has also been distinguished by its repetitiveness – his unwillingness to stop deploying an exaggerated statistic, baseless accusation or fictional tale after months or even years of debunkings.

Trump has for years had persistently poor poll results on the question of whether he is honest and trustworthy; part of the reason may well be his unwavering devotion to assertions that many Americans already know aren’t true. But his relentlessness also works for him in a way. Because news outlets are naturally focused on new material, some may fact-check a falsehood the first time Trump says it but not the 10th or 100th time. By shamelessly persevering, Trump can eventually get his greatest hits out there with little pushback.

Imaginary sub-$2 gasoline

Trump, talking about gas prices, said at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, “There’s some places it’s $2. It’s even – it broke $2 in a couple of locations in the South.”

That’s all fair, but it doesn’t get close to Trump’s $350 billion figure. So how did the White House official try to get closer?

With some nonsensical math – that added in a whole bunch of things that are not assistance to Ukraine.

Specifically, the official counted more than $90 billion in inflation felt by US households after the Russian invasion of Ukraine; a $16 billion decline in US exports to Russia amid US sanctions; and more than $7 billion in increased fertilizer costs after the Russian invasion drove up prices.

He acts and thinks he IS “the state” because that’s how he’s treated internally in his tiny echo chamber in the White House and externally through effusive praise and overt acts of fealty.

The parallels to Louis XVI are undeniable.

Rep. Burchett has introduced three bills to codify executive orders. Pat Harrigan (NC) has introduced another. Basically EO’s would become Royal Decrees.

No one, not one person, could or would either inform Trump that the water would never end up in LA or at least divert his attention or slow him down.
Now, no one can advise him to not bring it up again. Trump is so delusional that he thinks he’s circling back to punch down after a WIN!
