...very impressive...

...the under told story of Labor's struggle with Capital is shameful especially in a society that touts itself as democratic...

...I went to Gompers elementary school on the southside of Chicago...outside the principal's office was a plaque dedicated to Samuel Gompers with very little mentioning of who he was...and that was in the 50's in one of the most Unionized parts of the country...

...my grandfather, mother, aunts, me, at one time or another all worked for International Harvester...the management and history of IH produced the Unions they deserved...I learned that Union is not just people coming together for economic justice and relief, it's also a state of mind...

...I want justice, fairness and economic reward today...I don't cut slack to Capital because someday I'll be Elon Musk...I don't want to gamble with my economic future more than I have to...the hereafter is full of poor and exploited people waiting for their economic reward for their labor...

...Labor Day is the day to honor all who have come before and sacrificed so much for me to have the life I have today...I owe them much as I try to do my part to pass it on...

I think captures the central delusion of every republican. It is a perfect description of all those who vote against their own interests again and again.
