I am so "effing" sick of the Dem bashing

My response whenever I hear; "where are the Dems?"

Fuck that fucking noise...JUST FUCK!!!! THAT

You want to know "where the fuck are the Democrats?"

They are using the fucking power that the voters fucking gave them...in other words...NOT MUCH.

Where are the fucking patriots? is a more appropriate question.

This fucking evil, distopian, authoritarian shit belongs to the fucking MAGAt voters...and to every God Damned voter who didn't vote for the Democratic ticket because...I don't know...they weren't mean enough to the Israelis, or they said; "yeah, we have the rule of law, so we can't just do whatever the fuck we want to do when we have the majority", or, maybe they said; "we can't just excuse every fucking student loan, or give everyone fucking ponies".

JFC! Asking "where are the Democrats?", is like asking a rape victim; "so, how short was the skirt you were wearing when you were attacked?"

The Democrats are fighting with the tools they have. Short of setting themselves on fire, what do you want?

"Where is Superman? I gave him that fucking kryptonite necklace, so where in the fuck is he?"

I can't wait until Sep/Oct 2026, so I can read all the fucking "DEMs aren't fighting hard enough, or pure enough...let's talk about this Green Party candidate"...and all the "I am not giving a dime to the DNC unless they fullfil my every fucking need" threads on DU.

That is, if I get past all the fucking "Sidney Sweeny is selling soap made out of her bathwater" threads.

LATHER, FUCKING RINSE, FUCKING REPEAT!

In fact, some of us feel that doing so is an obligation.

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in politics, I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson

But when the "creed of one party" is to gleefully murder your family while they sleep, and the ONLY FUCKING THING YOU CAN DO TO STOP THEM is to "submit the whole system of your opinions to the creed of the party" that stands in opposition to them...you stand with that opposition party...no. you don't stand with them...you fucking fight with them with all your might.

I think I'll worry about my "whole system of my opinions" AFTER we've stomped an electoral hole through the party that wants to murder me and my family.

History is rife with the disembowled, decapitated bodies of millions who wish their lives had been as important as someone's "system of opinions".

Freedom for supporters of the government only, for members of one party only, no matter how big its membership may be is, no freedom at all. Freedom is always freedom for the man who thinks differently.

We are living in a ONE-PARTY STATE!!

and we got here, precisely because people thought; "well, the Democratic Party hasn't fulfilled my EVERY need, so I'll stay home, or voted for Jill Stein (or whatever Putin puppet is put forward as an "alternative&quot .

This is silly!

The one party that could put a stop to this fascist, nazi shit, has been handcuffed because they didn't stop it.

It really is like looking at a victim of a violent crime and saying; "you didn't fight hard enough".

Thu Sep 4, 2025, 02:27 PM

All I see is a statement about losing freedom if you blindly support a party.

Here's my answer to that statement.

Freedom is precisely why I am a DEMOCRAT! Like it, or not, there is a "left" and a "Reich" political philosophy in this country. The governing philosophy of the Reich is authoritarian, fascist, discriminatory, misogynistic and VIOLENT. The governing philosophy of the left INNOCULATES ITSELF from authoritarianism, fascism, misogyny, discrimination and violence.

All I need to know is this...and it's a FACT! If any president from the left spoke like, or took actions.like Donnie Dipshit has, his own party and voters would be the first ones to run him out of town on a rail.

Under a president from the left, a crazy, conspiracy,-cranking, heroine addled fuckstick wouldn't be in charge of the nations health, and a drunk rapist racist wouldn't be the fucking Secretary of Defense!

I am a Democrat because my parties core governing philosophy...and most importantly...the people that share that core governing philosophy WOULD NEVER ALLOW THIS FASCIST SHITSHOW WE CURRENTLY HAVE.

Presumably you would prefer a state governed only by that party that agree with your tenets. You refer to "the Left" as if it's a party. It's not. The Left has always been divided into various factions. As is the Democratic Party. Where do you draw the borders?

I've been a registered Democrat since 1965. I don't always agree with the party on some issues. Usually, I hold my nose on some issues that I disagree with and vote for the Democratic candidate as a "not as bad" vote. As a party member I have the right to criticize the policies and politicians in MY party as I see fit.

I'm a Democrat, a Socialist, and a pacifist and nobody tells me how to vote on election day.

BTW Rosa Luxemburg was a far left German Socialist Jew who was murdered by German far right nationalists.

If one party is a racist, rapey, fascist, criminal, violent, authoritarian above the rule of law party, and it takes electing a One-Party-State to stop them and save Constitutional Democracy, then "yes! a thousand times".

It's a silly argument. In modern history, Dems have had a trifecta before, but even then, THEY RESPECTED COURT RULINGS!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with gaining and having political power. I am a Democrat, in part because my party understands and accepts that there are limits to that power.

Tue Sep 2, 2025, 10:20 PM

Is it just “boo republicans”? Okay “boo republicans”. Criticism of the actions of the Party and its constituents’ actions seems to be an important part of the discussion in moving the party forward. If nothing else it helps release some steam for those of us who are frustrated. “Bashing” is such a weird word for voicing criticism or disagreement with other members or even our leaders. Voting the Democratic Party ticket does not mean one loses one’s independent voice. It’s difficult to read posts like this that have so much vitriol directed at and disdain for other members of this community, but I understand that it’s part of the conversation here. I just wonder who it is that these kind of posts are supposed to be protecting? Surely not the politicians? “Mean enough to the Israelis”, “rule of law”, “student loans” “Sydney Sweeney””pure enough”? No dem bashing allowed, but Republican talking points okay if against anyone to the left of you? I can’t help but what’s really making the “shut up about the Democratic Party” leadership wing of this board so energized is an actual hatred for those who are seemingly progressive and a love for the status quo.

The “rape victim” simile was neither clever or apt. At my most charitable, it was unnecessarily insensitive. It makes me curious about it as a rhetorical decision. It’s almost as if you don’t understand the gravity of sexual abuse to its victims any more than you do of the lack thereof of political criticisms on a political discussion board.

I was on a Reddit discussion and someone mentioned 3 dems that were fighting to save our country and people started adding more and more dems even down to the state and local level. It felt good to see people engaged and supporting the candidates at all levels who are working so hard. You will not find it here. I’ve seen people run here with any negative news and cause folks hair to catch fire and the bashing begins. My fire is aimed at the republicans and helping our local candidates. Don’t let it get you down, that’s just DU.

Tonight, alone Garcia has been all over the news with the Oversight Committee meeting tomorrow which he co-chairs. Ayanna Pressley is on that committee, and she is a rape survivor. You never see these two mentioned as fighters. This is huge. I just saw that three R's have demanded that the full Epstein files should be released. Are you sitting down...it's MTG, Bobo and Luna.

Good to know others on Reddit chimed in and added the names that are somehow always ignored. This is the OP's point about people never acknowledging that there are so many more Dems out their fighting for this party and our country.

Giving has nothing to do with them fulfilling my needs. Giving fulfills the turf protectors needs. That's why we are where we are, because when we had the chance, we didn't take it.

Vent all you want if it makes you feel better. Then, when you come back to earth, you can either help or keep whining.

Lots of protests yesterday. And here we are today, nothing's changed. It takes risks and some boldness to get things done and when we had the chance to do something, those qualities were lacking.

For example good leadership would've gathered all dem governor's and retaliated against Texas ... No, one too many are claiming Newsom is going to far and not backing him up with a gaggle of other dem governors threatening to do the same thing

from Gingrich to a non-governing 100% obstructionist party to the current fascist insanity without a party platform, just how the hell are Democrats to blame for being unable to fix things? Speaker Pelosi's House passed all kinds of great things -- climate, gun control, voting rights and civil rights -- died in Republican senate. A miracle Obama and Biden got major pieces of legislation passed in the short time before Republicans took back Congress.

Republicans have made government the Democrats and everyone hates the government. And anything explained about not having votes or power is brushed off with, oh, that's just an excuse or oh, that's not good enough. Fucking idiots.
