Edwards was sleeping with an assistant on the camp trail. Elizabeth Edwards was a DUer and very much loved here.
I was as disappointed as anyone by the outcome of that election, and it took me years to take that sticker off my bumper. These are the facts as I recall them.
Howard Dean was right about everything.
I was a Dean delegate up to the county convention.

(609 posts)But the revelation of the affair wasnt until the 2008 campaign. I think it may have been after he dropped out.
I remember because I was considering voting for him in the 08 primary. Thankfully he faded into obscurity. His message was similar to Bernies in that he channeled income inequality, but unlike with Bernie, he never came across authentic. He always struck as too slick.

I think Kerry would have been one of the best Presidents but he made a huge mistake with VP selection.

(5,061 posts)I think Gore had his troubles, but as for how good a president he would've been, I think he'd have done really well for us.
Hillary is the one that utterly kills me. She was amazing. We'll feel that loss for a long time to come.
It's a lot of loss in a short span of our history and brought us to today. I loved Biden, but it's hard for me to believe he didn't see what was coming, therefore, I think he failed us miserably in that respect. For almost everything else, he turned so much of this country in the right direction, fixed the total disaster we were in. Obama fixed the Bush mess left for him, and Biden learned how to do it and did it amazingly well after the first Trump disaster.
How many amazing presidents are we going to need to get this country where it needs to be. I don't think it'll be in my lifetime but something's got to give along the line, and for the coming generations, I sure hope for their sake, it does work out. I can't possibly see how or when, but one thing we know is that everything changes.. and sometimes that's all we got to hang onto.
