This opinion piece from "The Guardian" (Australia) says that Hakeem Jefferies and Chuck Schumer should.....

.......step down and be replaced by new people who are willing to fight Trump's authoritarianism tooth and nail. The writers say that 62% of Democratic voters agree that Dem leadership should be replaced. Put me down as a Minnesota DFL voter who could not agree more.

They went along with Bush's campaign to swiftboat John Kerry , knowing the whole thing was a lie

"But her emails" and " Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi" took out Hilary Clinton

A couple of weeks before the election, I watched Washington Week reporters savage Kamala Harris for not being forceful enough in her answers in some interview, never mentioning Trump publicly praising Arnold Palmer's genitalia.

Newsrooms are controlled by uber wealthy people who want tax breaks. Any Democrat with a platform to even the playing field gets targeted.

My view of Hasan is he's incredibly intelligent, makes compelling arguments backed up with facts, and is easily more articulate and effective than anyone else I've seen and heard. I suspect some dislike him because he's progressive, Muslim, speaks the truth about Israel's war crimes, and can be critical of Democrats when they deserve criticism.

Oh really? Because the Democratic Party and Republican Party actually WIN elections.

Also - most Americans don't like ANY political party.

So when I see the Greens, DSA, Libertarians, etc. etc. put up some ground shaking big wins and take overs of local, state, and fed gov - I'll pay attention to them.

They are staunch liberals (Pro Union, Public Education, Fair wages, etc etc) 12 of their candidates for the Party within the Party won seats in the NYC council in 2010. 41. There is the Schumer plan
Thu Sep 4, 2025, 09:37 AM
Thursday

Back in March when he and a minority of Senate Democrats kneecapped the House and voted to allow passage of the CR and getting absolutely nothing in return, no protections for the social safety net, he went on Chris Hayes and explained why he gave Krasnov his CR.

Not my words, Schumer's, he told Hayes that he was afraid that Democrats would be blamed for a shutdown, he told Hayes that Krasnov will burn it all down and then that will enable Democrats to win the next election. That is the strategy, that is why I get a dozen texts every day to donate money to someone's campaign. The strategy is to throw money at the 2026 election.

Last March was the time for Democrats to take a stand and demand protections for our social safety net. I was told that Medicare and Social Security would be safe. Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security are being gutted and we can't do a damn thing about it because we didn't fight back last March.
Just my humble opinion.

I'm 78, I can get by without Social Security, I have a pension and a 401k. I can get by without Medicare, but it will be tougher, I have Union provided secondary insurance plan. I am thinking about the millions of people who won't be able to get by.

Krasnov wants people to die, those who die are deemed inferior and are not a part of the remaining master race.

Mehdi Hasan with Cuomo: 'I see no way back for Biden; replace him with Harris'

theintercept.com
Mehdi Hasan
Joe Biden Is Hillary Clinton 2.0 — Democrats Would Be Mad to Nominate Him

Forget, for a moment, his “blue-collar-uncle-at-the-end-of-the-bar persona.” Ignore also his recent, and ridiculous, claim to have the “most progressive record of anybody” running for president. Consider, instead, the sheer number of similarities he seems to have with the vanquished Democratic presidential candidate of 2016.

Iraq War supporter? Check. Clinton was pilloried by the left and the right alike as a wild-eyed hawk; her vote in favor of the Iraq invasion haunted both her 2008 and 2016 campaigns. In fact, a study by two academics in 2017 found a “significant and meaningful relationship between a community’s rate of military sacrifice and its support for Trump” and suggested that if Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin “had suffered even a modestly lower casualty rate,” they could have “sent Hillary Clinton to the White House.”

Let’s be clear: If he runs, Biden will be the only candidate — out of up to 20 Democrats running for the nomination — to have voted for the Iraq War. As the influential chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the run-up to the invasion, Biden (falsely) claimed the United States had “no choice but to eliminate the threat” from Saddam Hussein. A former U.N. weapons inspector even accused the then-senator of running a “sham” committee hearing that provided “political cover for a massive military attack on Iraq.”

Friend of Wall Street? Check. Clinton had a Goldman Sachs problem; Biden has an MBNA problem. Headquartered in his home state of Delaware, the credit card giant MBNA was his biggest donor when he served in the Senate. In 2005, Biden threw his weight behind a bankruptcy bill, signed into law by President George W. Bush, that shamefully protected credit card companies at the expense of borrowers.

We'll have a full blown Northeast Alliance. Schumer and Jeffries will be pushed to join us. The US Democratic Party will be looking to Texas and Florida for leadership. That will be stage 2. Soft Secession is already happening.

Ramp up would be the stolen 2026 election by the Regime. If that happens, the Northeast like the West will be going it alone. I'm on the ground in NJ LD-16 - and I have my own constituents in my Borough within that district.

The Rage of average Janes and Joes in Blue and Purple states is not being reported on. It is rage we are hearing in this local, Assembly, and Governor's race. Rage.

I'd love to hear what folks in VA are encountering.

What happens in NJ and VA matters this year. What steps are taken in the first 100 days of these two states determines how far the Regime will go to impose its unAmerican values on Blue States.

Start an economic revolution by having rallies! When asked how, mumble grumpily about not having the details in your pocket, then accuse your allies of being corrupt coastal elites paling around with oligarchs and Republicans.

and I want Hakeem Jeffries as leader and as Speaker. I think he's been doing an excellent job with the hand he's been dealt and he always keeps the Democratic coalition on the same page.

The bashing of Hakeem Jeffries is getting old. It's just like the non stop bashing of Pelosi. I'm sick of it.

replace her, was clinging to power, would never impeach Trump, attack attack attack.

Even I knew Jeffries was Pelosi's protege and I'm not a member of the House like the person who said that she didn't have one (and the f I Don't Know Anything But Know I'm Right Let's Revolution people), and of course she did "pass the torch" to the next generation of leadership. And here we are, same old whine-bashing a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus as status quo establishment who hates progressives BS. Doesn't matter who it is, same attack and always wrong.

Name them.

And describe what fighting "tooth and nail" looks like in reality.

This crap is so far beyond tedious and boring.

not anything that will help anyone in anyway way but grand demonstrations that will make some happy. Personally, I prefer real accomplishments that actually helps people.
