Trump "thinks" he's going to straighten out Putin on Ukraine. USA! USA! USA! HE THINKS! USA!

In a phone interview with CBS News, Trump said he expected to make progress toward his said goal of ending the three-year war but suggested that Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “are not ready yet.”

“I’ve been watching it, I’ve been seeing it, and I’ve been talking about it with President Putin and President Zelenskyy,” Trump said. “Something is going to happen, but they are not ready yet. But something is going to happen. We are going to get it done.”

Trump, once again, conceded that he underestimated how hard it would be to bring that conflict to a close, but said: “I think we’re going to get it all straightened out.”

Following his meeting with Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15, where he rolled out the red carpet for the Russian dictator and rode with him in “the Beast,” the U.S. president’s armored limousine, Trump had claimed peace talks, including a potential trilateral summit between him and the two foreign leaders, would soon follow. Yet, those talks haven’t materialized and Putin has seemed unwilling to make any concessions to Kyiv, while continuing to escalate his attacks on Ukrainian civilians.

I am convinced, with no proof because the Epstein files are secret, that Russia and Israel are involved in Epstein Gate. Putin and Bibi both know what's in those files and are holding it over Krasnov's head. Epstein was gifted millions of dollars from several people, release the files.

Money well spent for Putin and Bibi, if I am right of course.

Putin is, maybe, a fucking idol to Trump. He reveres Putin's power and absolute control over Russia, fantasizing himself as a similar autocratic ruler... I say "maybe" because I'm not sure it's reverence or just fear. Trump is a narcissistic asshole but Putin is a cold blooded, despotic tyrant observing no limits in maintaining his control. Trump's working in that direction but so far, lacks the smarts or the guts to go full tyrant. And now, he's demonstrating the lack of guts to walk the walk in dealing with the Ukraine-Russia war. He's probably hoping Zelensky will cave and give in to Putin...

President Donald Trump's original 50-day deadline he gave Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war he started in Ukraine has expired, with no end in sight to the fighting.

When contacted for comment, the White House referred Newsweek to Trump's statement in August that "there might be very big consequences" for Russia if there is no end to the war and that he will know in the coming weeks what he is going to do.

Trump has been unable to follow through on his promises to apply economic sanctions as Putin intensifies his attacks on civilians in Ukraine, Boyechko added.

Brett Erickson, a sanctions expert and adviser to Seton Hall's School of Diplomacy and International Relations, told Newsweek that if Trump did not impose secondary sanctions after Russia's largest strikes on Kyiv, he never will. "Putin knows it, and he's recalibrating accordingly," he said.
