Imagine being so brainwashed

to despise liberals that as a result you hate
- Clean air
- Clean water
- Civil rights
- Emergency warning systems
- Foreign allies
- Education
- Economic stability
- Consumer protection
- Renewable energy
- Etc.
all because they're things liberals support.

Thank Rush, King of Angry White Folks.

Going to get lower taxes or more "freedoms" because they lost all that stuff. They will get a kick in the ass and keep there head lowered and told to consume and be grateful that they can go to Chilis once and a while for a big night out.

I keep thinking of the phrase "hurt people hurt people." It confused me at first when I heard it ages ago, but I finally figured out that it meant that people who are harmed by other people end up harming other people (often their children) because they are emotionally damaged. And they often end up defending the harmful behavior that fucked them up because they can't admit they're fucked up.

"My parents beat and verbally abused me and I turned out OK," they say, "so why shouldn't I treat my kids the same way?"

And it isn't confined to their own families. They harm others as well. Notably, Rush Limbaugh, Roger Ailes, Rupert Murdoch, the Fox "News" spokesliars," and much of the M$M have destroyed this country by convincing these emotionally disturbed MAGAts that their path to wealth & happiness requires hurting others.

So, in addition to their friends & families whom they probably inadvertently hurt due to harmful learned behaviors, they also purposely hurt whomever they're told by the loudmouth RW media is the enemy.

Of course it's the blacks, the Asians, the immigrants, the Libs, etc.

But those causing them the most harm--RW/MAGAt commentators & politicians, & billionaires--are never IDed as their enemies.

Assailing renewable energy is an assault on renewable energy jobs. Clean energy investment has surpassed fossil fuel investment but maga pays no mind to that. It's like betting against the automobile at the turn of the 20th century, only dumber.

This is a smart guy, an engineer and Vietnam vet who has traveled the world and lived in several foreign countries.

Nice guy, very compassionate and funny. One of these guys so nice people took advantage of him, he knew it, and he didn't care. As long as he was helping people he was OK with being taken. "They need the money worse than I do."

I had not seen him for a few years, and when he came around to visit one day, he was like a stranger.

Obama had put us under Sharia Law, it was illegal to show any Christian symbols, the FBI were rounding up people for worshipping Christ, "they" were abolishing the American Flag and replacing it with ISIS symbols.

He ended up losing his job because he refused to mask or get vaccinated, his wife divorced him, and he died sleeping on his son's couch because he could not pay his rent. He was, according to his son, totally off the rails.

I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it happen to him.

I'm sorry for you losing your friend.

Have you ever seen the documentary "The Brainwashing of My Dad"? It's 10 years old, but still relevant. The filmmaker describes how listening to AM radio during commutes turned her otherwise compassionate nonpolitical father into the type of person your friend became. Not a new story, but good nonetheless.

Not Limpballs, he always turned me off he was so full of hate for everyone.

But idiots like Laura Schlesinger (calls herself Dr. Laura a fake doctor, gave family and emotional advice, she has a PHD but no medical license) and Dave Ramsey (a Christian financial advisor who scammed people and lost a suit over it.)

There were others who spewed out blatant conservativism, cruelty, hate and bigotry behind giving advice. So, it wasn't just obvious ditto heads who were being fed this brain rot.

It was a concerted effort by the filthy-rich to brain wash as many people as they could. Clear channel took over most of the radio air waves and small stations through out the US. They promoted people like Glenn Beck and Michael Savage. It was everywhere you turned.

And honestly I fell for some of it. Until I found The Thom Hartmann Show. Honestly, if not for him I think I would have fallen under that spell of hate conservatives love to ignite in people.

I think that was 2004.

I trusted his take mostly. But because he gave logical and complete explanations of why he thought that way. The hate mongers don't give logical reasons for what they believe. They either rely on religion to sway you, provide emotional explanations or just out and out lie.

But I understand a lot of people can't be convinced with logic, reason and intellectual arguments. In my case, I was pulling away from any belief in a god and questioning the whole idea of capitalism at the same time. So, I was looking for a show that would spark my intellect and not contradict what I knew to be true.

I have relative that WAS an accomplished individual, above average IQ, college degrees, great career, etc who is now barely one step above homelessness.......wondering where his next meal is coming from.......And STILL, a hard core MAGAot.................

We originally were thinking it was like all of these MAGAots, were quite literally "brainwashed"..................and then the nations psychiatrists came out and said:

"If a person watches Fox News, and listens to RW radio as their exclusive news sources, for any number of years...... they have very effectively been brainwashed"....

The RWmedia is very good at what they do. They have mastered propaganda and brainwashing. They tap into the grievance and other vulnerabilities of their audience.

They have them convinced that the folks at rallies and protests are violent terrorists.

It is the scourge of our time.

The word liberal comes from the Latin word liber, meaning "free". This root word relates to English words such as liberty. The word "liberal" was first used in the context of education to describe a "liberal arts" education suitable for a free-born man, and later evolved to describe a political stance that favored freedom and an open society, everything the people above continue to work against.
