I asked about the Covid vaccine and he was confused about what to do. I guess NC just decided last week to require a script for the vaccine if you are over 65 or have certain conditions that make you compromised. So he write a note recommending the vaccine for my husband and myself because of your age. We take it to CVS and they would not accept it ..they need an actual script. Called the office and was told they would do it. That was yesterday morning and still no script. Called the doctors office again today and was told it would take up to 3 days!. She told me they were inundated with requests because NC was undecided as to what to do up until a few days ago. A friend was told by his doctor last Friday that NC would not be giving the vaccine so he traveled to SC CVS, got the vaccine, no problem, no script. This is totally ridiculous and unnecessary. It is a direct result of trump and rfk,jr. and this administration. Now I really see the danger of this guy and his anti-vaxxers cohorts. People simply will not go through the hassle and I can hardly blame them. I cannot believe that in this day and age a person cannot get a vaccine when they want/need one. This is not an urgent situation for my husband or myself, but I can see where this will lead to future sickness and death. Public health is a serious matter and we have idiots in charge of the countrys health. Sorry for the rant.

To the OP, I'm so sorry you have to jump through hoops to get decent preventative medicine. Don't give up, be like a terrier and hang on until you get what you need.

'Here Are Your COVID Vaccine Questions Answered,' NPR, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025. UPDATED 🥼
One thing certain about the COVID vaccine right now is that everything about it is changing. New rules are causing confusion over who can and who can't get the updated COVID-19 shot.
Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. and other top Trump administration health officials claim that at this point in the pandemic, existing immunity removes the need for continued boosters.
So the new updated COVID vaccine shots have only been approved for people who are at increased risk of complications from the virus. For now, that at-risk group has been defined as people who are 65 or older, or any young people who have other health issues that make COVID especially risky.
An advisory group for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to meet later this month and will issue formal recommendations for how they can be prescribed and who can get them and this will affect whether insurance covers them too. Until then, rules and guidance vary state by state...

(4,226 posts)Pharmacist said they have stock of new Covid vaccines but due to government snafu about who pays and who doesn't, and who gets Vax and who doesn't, they can't give shots, so try again in 2 weeks. He did like my beautiful shirt: The only good orange Monarch is a Butterfly.
