My husband and I are both 71, so we are eligible. Our son is 34, but developmentally disabled. In Wisconsin, you can self-identify a reason you need the booster. Since he is pre-diabetic and overweight, those reasons were good enough. We are all boosted up!

(4,326 posts)They were hawking flu shots. I asked if the Covid shot was the recent iteration - yes it was.
Got both. I'm not waiting. With this administration you never know if they'll still be available in the near future.
It's been removed from my "to do" list.
My husband said they were giving flu shots at the supermarket today.

(6,056 posts)CVS said it needed a prescription. Gal who gave me my flu shot doctors offices were calling them in. Well, not quite. Per my doctors office (very large professional one) Medicare is requiring a written prescription. But/also the gal said they had been getting conflicting information. Who would have guessed? So the office is creating a list to use once they get accurate information. Between no vaccine mandates for kids and a bunch of seniors having trouble getting their Covid shots Florida is going to be one sick state this winter.

COVID and flu shots at Walgreens today (other than a poorly trained pharmacist assistant). Costs were fully covered.
I was surprised that there was no one waiting for later appointments.

(53,710 posts)Last week CVS was not fiving them out unless you are 65+ or poor health. My doctor wouldn't even give me an Rx for it since the CDC was so screwed up and he wasn't allowed to yet. I just gave it a shot and made an appointment and I got accepted.

(27,908 posts)We had to go to a particular Wegmans in our county which takes Medicaid for minors, and the guy at the front desk didn't seem to really know what he was doing and what the current rules actually are, but someone else in the back got it sorted out.
They were able to get the shots, no charge, and we didn't even have to lie about them having a medical condition.
I'm going to try to get myself and my mom done tomorrow.
I think in NYS anyone who wants one can get it.

(2,937 posts)In Virginia, Walgreen's requires a doc's script -- emailed our primary care, she sent a script to local Walgreen's, walked in Friday afternoon, took ten minutes, didn't feel a thing, no one else getting vax. Sore shoulder for a couple of days, wife slept most of Saturday and Sunday.
Daughter (57) is in DC, could not get vax the. She is eligible because of a pre-existing condition, get her's in Maryland Saturday, knocked her out Sunday, bounced right back Sunday night.
Son is a raving MAGA asshole, he's 57 (son and daughter are twins), not eligible because of age, but has steadfastly refused to get COVID vaccinations. Daughter-in-law has good sense, so, she and grandsons (18 and 15) will get vax when they are eligilble.
