Thoughts too.
I shall for the sake of decency not disclose what I am praying and thinking happens.

Say what you will about the man, he had millions of followers, and someone just (probably) whacked him in broad daylight. Now his viewership will multiply to tens or hundreds of millions, and guess who's seen to blame?
Democrats.
It may not be right, and I think that the shooter's a rightie personally, but the swing is already in motion.

etc. ad nauseum.
Democratic vision and policy would have protected that piece of shit from getting shot. All while he sat that on a university campus using the liberal values of free speech to spew his poison.
I think it is ironic that a bullet hit him in right in the voice.

(485 posts)By shooting him dead, someone just gave the right EVERY excuse to start shooting; a right winger was executed publically, broadcasted live, while speaking freely and giving others the opportunity to do the same. No matter how WRONG his views are, we've lost any and all moral high ground. He's already a martyr.

(1,955 posts)But to be fair, the right has had a monopoly on firing the proverbial 1st shot. Pun sincerely and insensitively intended. I feel a little dirty about it, but I have trouble feeling bad.

(485 posts)Even when Trumps "Assassination attempt" was a thing, there wasn't this level of mobilization on the right's social media... I don't know, man. Someone just legitimized trying to or actively killing someone because you disagree with their ideas. That's NOT a good thing, no matter who's doing it.
I haven't felt a chill like this since 9/11... I really hope my gut feeling is wrong but I DO NOT like this at all.

(1,599 posts)"The suspect in the shootings involving the families of Minnesota congresspeople is Vance Boelter, age 57. He is accused of killing Democratic Minnesota state Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and of shooting and wounding Democratic state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in their homes in June 2025. Boelter was captured after a two-day manhunt and faces federal and state charges, including murder and attempted murder. Authorities discovered a list of additional political targets, mostly Democrats, in his possession."
Also, I don't think Kirk's viewership will be going up.

Oh dear. Oh heavens above.
Gosh golly gee.
Finally, a school shooting right wingers will howl about.
