He (Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)) moved to guarantee a vote on releasing documents tied to Epstein by taking the unusual step of filing cloture himself.

He tied the measure — which is identical to the bipartisan discharge petition being pushed in the House — to the must-pass annual defense policy package as an amendment.

By doing so, Schumer ensured the issue will come before the full Senate.

The move puts the explosive case squarely at the center of the chamber’s agenda, and forces Republicans to go on record over whether to make the documents public.
