Charlie Kirk has died after shooting at Utah event, suspect not in custody

Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday and has died, according to President Donald Trump.

Utah House Speaker Mike Schultz earlier said Kirk’s death was confirmed to him by Utah law enforcement officials.

Deseret News reporters on the scene report seeing Kirk shot during a Q&A with students. About two minutes into the interview a gunshot rang out and Kirk appeared to be hit in the neck.

Kirk, 31, co-founded Turning Point USA, one of the largest conservative organizations for high school and college students. He is a popular podcast and cable news host. He is married and has two children.
