"Killed in Ambush"

I was 8 years old when JFK was assassinated and I had a talk with my father.

i was confused and didn't know what assassinated meant, and my dad explained JFK was killed in ambush.

to my young, ignorant mind I thought he meant the killer was hiding in bushes.

I don't even know where this is coming from, and why this popped up in my mind.

I only know this shit has to stop.

those were dark times; lots of crying.

but times are different now; the right is using this assassination as a vehicle to attack progressives.

again, this shit needs to stop.

I was a bit older at the time, 9th grade.

It was a “turning point” in U.S. history, if not the first. I was in Garfield middle school.

Pun or not, I’d have said “turning point” no matter what.
