If I've read right-wingers howl once on social media (and elsewhere) about how Democrats and "libruls" hate free speech, are anti-FA, and are just champing at the bit for any opportunity to impose draconian hate speech laws on the masses that will punish any form of dissent, I've read it a billion times.
Yet, lo and behold, here we are two days following the death of Charlie Kirk, their self-proclaimed champion of freedom of speech, and what are reThugs doing with their spare time?...Systematically hunting down and doxing anyone and everyone on social media who has either refused to reverentially mourn his passing, made some off-color remark or other, or has posted anything even remotely critical of Charlie Kirk's well-documented fundamentalist views in an attempt to get that person fired from their job or bankrupt their business (if they own one).
So far, the RW mob have gotten several teachers, a firefighter, and even a secret service agent, either fired outright or placed on administrative leave. They've also targeted an Oklahoman vetenarian, and a BBQ restaurant owner in Cincinnati.
Hey, where's all that unconditional love RWingers supposedly have for the First Amendment now? What happen to all those "free speech absolutists', like Elon? Who is terroristically persecuting and punishing ordinary people for simply having contrary or unpopular opinions now?
Of the many horrific things your average reThug is, they're perfect hypocrites above all else.
Edit: Speaking of perfect hypocrites, Ron DeSantis has directed the Florida education department to actually scour the internet for any comments pertaining to Kirk's death made by Florida teachers that are deemed "vile and sanctionable". Considering DeSantis views anything Democrats say to be vile, that's a pretty wide net, no?
If criticizing a controversial figure on the internet after they're dead, or cracking irreverant jokes about them is now considered "sanctionable" by state governors, what is the First Amendment even for at this point.
