"They're coming to take your guns away"and Kirk was right in the middle of that BS.

When I moved back to the red town I grew up in, I heard that almost daily, then I started challenging
those who spoke that BS with "Can you name one politician who would throw their political career
away with the suggestion we should take all the guns?"

Been a good three years since I've heard that BS spoken around here.

As a party should we start advertising that "We're not coming for your guns"?

I don't want to name his name because he is someone I deeply respect but that was a really stupid thing to say in Texas if you want to get elected.

...to this "gun grabber" bullshit. They seem to have a Pavlovian response to ANY discussion about gun control. Actually, gun control doesn't even need to be mentioned. They will run out and stock up on guns any time it appears that a Democrat might become President, because for some reason they think that some big gun purge is coming.

it was supposed to happen to others, not him.
Self declared immunity from repercussions of what he was spreading.
Something he learnt from Trump.
Too bad history doesn't support the validity of that line of 'logic.'

To coin a phrase or two:

He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.

Instilling hatred in a crowd of people can backfire on you. Hate is like that.
