Having lived in the "mozone" for a couple decades plus, I can tell you that his stature basically means that they go to church and don the underwear, do as they are told by the church... mostly.

My contact with them has been positive. When I was a kid i had two friends who were LDS. They weren't goodie goodies but they seemed responsible and kind, especially for their age.

In several communities dominated by the church I worked and studied with lots of members, some I am still friends with, but in the shooter's case, there's something askew with the proposed beliefs.
