Kirk wasn't a white nationalist

That's according to the big money MSM which has gone as far as describing him as a christian nationalist because it's more acceptable to those of his persuasion who actually self-identify as such.

But that's the standard operating procedure in mainstream American institutions - don't piss off the worst white people because they're vindictive and have the more powerful people behind them.

It was ok to identify a terrorist like Eric Rudolph a white nationalist because he blew shit up and killed people. So in order to be a white nationalist by mainstream American standards you must be a criminal and/or have limited popular appeal.

Because of his popularity, the recently killed guy may be described as "polarizing" or "controversial" but God forbid we call him exactly what he was.

1. Christian nationalists are actually a sort of subspecies of white nationalists.

White nationalists in general are people who believe the US ought to be populated by or at least controlled by white people. Christian nationalists believe the only legitimate religion is Christianity and that the US should be governed by Christians and Christian rules. There is a fair amount of overlap, since the evangelical Christians who want to take over the government are almost all white people, but the two kinds of nationalists are not ideologically identical.

In terms of the the two as social movements there is far less difference. Many white nationalists call themselves Christian nationalists because of the difference in connotation. And unless someone can prove to me otherwise, I believe there is an infinitesimal number of self-identifying Christian nationalists who oppose trump based on his anti-Christian behavior. Many would say that is because he is a means to their ends. I say there are very few Christian nationalists who support him only grudgingly. From my observation, they're all in.

But that's just my opinion.

When the hell did Christian Nationalism become "OK"???

Christian Nationalism is deeply Un-Christian and Un-American. Christian Nationalism encompasses all those other hateful labels. Christian Nationalism is the antithesis of American and Christian Values. Christian Nationalism rejects values that have been our guiding principles as we stumble along the path to a more perfect union -- values like human-rights, rule of law, religious freedom, self-governance, and economic justice, and the thinking underlying those values, among them rationality, compassion as a moral imperative, and scientific inquiry

We need to be Crystal Clear on this. We embrace ALL religions, including Christianity. However, we utterly abhor and oppose Christian Nationalism because Christian Nationalism is a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, Un-American, Un-Christian ideology. Christian Nationalist demagogues are hellbent on passing laws that force the rest of us to live in a world controlled by their tragically twisted belief system. Charlie Kirk was one of those demagogues.

In America, you can believe whatever the hell you want, BUT DO NOT try to pass laws that impose those beliefs on people who do not share those beliefs. Do not use public institutions to proselytize

And while we fiercely oppose Christian Nationalism, we utterly reject the use of force or violence to control or silence ANYONE who is acting or speaking in accord with the spirit of our constitution (not the unrecognizable version of that constitution being constructed by the black-robed traitors on SCOTUS).

TX State Rep. James Talarico is a riveting speaker on the topic. I would LOVE to see him in the U.S. Senate!!!

. . .
He told us we would know them by their fruits.

Jesus includes.

Christian Nationalism excludes.

Jesus liberates.

Christian Nationalism controls.

Jesus saves.

Christian Nationalism kills.

Jesus started a universal movement based on mutual love.

Christian Nationalism is a sectarian movement based on mutual hate.

Jesus came to transform the world.

Christian Nationalism is here to maintain the status quo.

They have co-opted the Son of God. They've turned this humble rabbi into a gun-toting, gay-bashing, science-denying, money-loving, fear-mongering fascist.
. . .

If this was truly a Christian nation, we would love all of our LGBTQ neighbors. If this was truly a Christian nation, we would make sure every child in this state and in this country was housed, fed, clothed, educated, and insured.

If this was truly a Christian nation, we would never make it a Christian nation because we know the table of fellowship is open to everybody, including our Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and atheist neighbors.
. . .

The closest thing we have to the kingdom of heaven is a multiracial, multicultural democracy where power is truly shared among all people. Something that's yet to exist in human history.
. . .

When someone asked Jesus to name his most important commandment, he cheats and gives two -- two that he says are related. The first is to love God. The second, he said, "Is like it: love they neighbor as thyself." It's like it because when I recognize the divine image in myself, I can't help but recognize it in my neighbor; whether they're Christian or not, whether they're religious or not. In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus specifically defines neighbor as some different from us, racially, economically, politically, religiously. God loves diversity; God loves variety. Just look around this beautiful planet of ours.
. . .

God is so much bigger than our human categories. God is not a Presbyterian. God is not a Christian.

God it not a noun at all.

God is a verb.

God is not a being.

God is being itself.

God is love.

And that's why Jesus is against anything that gets in the way of that love between neighbors, including religion.
. . .

That's why he says sinners will get to the kingdom of heaven before religious people do. Sorry to everyone here. I know you came all this way.
. . .

The kingdom of God inverts the power dynamics of "all the kingdoms in the world."

True strength is vulnerability.

True status is equality.

True wealth is sharing.

And we as Christians are called to realize that kingdom "on earth as it is in heaven," not by force, but by faith.

Jesus asked us to have the faith of a mustard seed, trusting that by living and dying for love we give birth to a better world.

That's not easy to do.
. . .

Christian Nationalists are more committed to the love of power than the power of love.

And it exposes a lack of faith because the opposite of faith is not doubt. Doubt is a healthy part of any faith.

The opposite of faith is control. When we stop trusting God, when we stop trusting love, we start taking control for ourselves.

Christian Nationalists want to control what we read, who we marry, where we travel, when we have children. They want to control our minds and our bodies.

"O ye of little faith."
. . .

9. If anyone can flip that seat, I think James Talarico can.

Colin Allred is great, but in our current crisis, a progressive Christian as compelling and talented a communicator as James Talarico is is what we need to meet the moment.

Similarly, I think that Anti-47 people in deep red areas need to get aggressive in recruiting and fundraising for Pro-Impeachment Republican candidates to mount primary challenges. Yes, I want to see Democratic general election challengers EVERYWHERE. We may not flip many seats, but if we aren't in the game, we will never gain ground. We must be running to build strength over time. My 100% support for Democratic candidates is a given, however, in this crisis, if a Republican is onboard with Impeachment and Removal of 47 and his co-conspirator Vance, and their otherwise conservative bonafides win them diehard Republican votes, this nation needs them to step up.
