(27 posts)a person trying to provoke a 'race-wa'r (a la Roof) there might be advantage in choosing to attack a prominently public figure, a person popular among the MAGA crowd (but of course no one critical to my own movement) as a target rather than the random slaughter done by Roof. Roof's revolting action didn't work against people schooled in resistance. If the point is to initiate open warfare within the American population, then perhaps Kirk's attacker just chose to go where the guns are; meaning among his own. This cowardly act has brought Kirk's adherents to fury ... so the temptation for vengeance is understandably high. If they lash out at sufficient scale, if the shooting seriously starts, the accelerationists might be able to claim success.

(2,870 posts)me try to get this straight:
Someone posted it on twitter, and now we believe MAGA is running around assassinating conservative Trump supporters.
Are we seriously going to fall for this stupid shit again?

(57 posts)His ideology isn't even clear at this point. He could be totally apolitical and just a troll - or something else.
The only thing we know for certain is that he's white, from Utah and raised LDS. He likely was raised by conservative parents and they probably were Republican. But he did not register as one and did not vote in the last presidential election, which would have been his first.

(19,736 posts)of demanding Trump release all of the Epstein files. Trump decreed that it was all a "hoax," and Kirk had the audacity to disagree with him.
Tyler Robinson assassinated Kirk for not being 100% in line with "dear leader." It's also a warning to other MAGAts. "Thou shalt not question Dear Leader about anything!"
There are many more Tyler Robinsons in the MAGA fold.

(19,736 posts)There are different factions within the MAGAverse. Some are mere right-wing nut-jobs, and some are so far right they want to do the mere right-wing nut-jobs bodily harm. If you can't come to terms with that there's nothing more to discuss.

(92 posts)Are in the middle of a Millennium scare. They think the world is ending and Jesus is coming back. Its so sad what the Mormon Church and Mormon parents have done to their children. I am sure Mormon stories podcast will do several hours on this topic. That church is dangerous and radical and has always been that way. We really need to tax churches. Its all a scam.

Suspect's high school friend says Robinson was the only 'leftist' in a family of 'very hard' Republicans
Anna Betts
In a phone interview on Friday, one of Tyler Robinson's high school friends, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was "pretty left on everything" and was "the only member of his family that was really leftist".
"The rest of his family was very hard
Republican," the friend said.
Around sophomore year, the friend said, Robinson became more extreme in his political views and would "always just be ranting and arguing about them".
